Barack Obama wished to join the military but the Vietnam war's end cooled his ardor?

I've got This Week With George TVo'd but haven't watched it yet. What a load of cr*p. I'll bet Georgie just let it slip on by. This statement needs major coverage because it's so unbelievable and he said it to the MSM. If they don't run with it as the lie it is it's one more nail in their coffins.

Was this at the same time Hillary tried to join the Marines?

He wouldn’t have passed the weight minimum anyway or the drug specifications.....couldn’t have had a security clearance has anyone asked him to drop to see if he is still using I mean some of the things he’s said like 57 states are so bizarro as to indicate a possible substance abuse problem

Can it be verified that he signed up for Selective Service? If he did sign up would this necessarily mean that he actually is a natural born citizen?

This worked so well for H.Clinton, I can see why he is now trying it. Surely he can spin himself into victimhood by claiming some white racists recruiter turned him down ala H.Clinton and the Marines?

I call you a coward, Senator Obama.
I server from 1980 till 2002. No major wars. Panama, Granada, the Beruit bombing and a few other scuffles, and, oh yeah, that “cold war” thing.
I served 22 years and change and never came under enemy fire or any kind of combat, for which I thank the Lord for.
Just because there was no war going on is not a reason not to serve.
Just more bullshit from the mind of a liberal

He can talk about it but McCain walked the walk and the difference between them is obvious. McCain put his country first and Obama put himself first!

Obama is a Marxist, a die hard communist. The only army this scumnbag would sign up for would have been the Red Army.

I don’t think so. Besides his drug (cocaine) use would have kept him out of the military.

Exactly, how self serving of Obama to bring up this (repressed) memory now. If it was action he craved, he probably could have enlisted during the Gulf War.

I'm reminded of
An Officer And A Gentleman. Very arrogant hotshot guy joins Navy and doesn't really grow up til he has a life changing experience. Only in the end does he get the girl. Obama has never lived a life like that and he doesn't understand the military culture.

It’s easy to make these types of idiotic claims when your allies in the press won’t take you to task.

Anybody remember the great Steven Wright line: “My girlfriend called me a wimp. I almost said something.” ??
O: I almost joined the military. Woulda, too, if there’d been a war.
