The only thing that recommends John McCain as President is that he he infinitely better than the Marxist useful idiot Barak Obama.

Sarah Palin represents hope for America.

McCain did what needed to be done. Tonight was about appealing to undecideds. He has the base now with Gov. Palin. Now the contest is on to get the 10% of the public who somehow still have not made up their minds.

He contrasted his patriotism and sense of duty with that wannabe Messiah perfectly. He was speaking plainly, and then left the stage and mixed with the delegates. The final minutes of the speech actually moved me to tears.

I know he will infuriate us at times on some domestic issues, but he also let us know that he is the man we want as our Commander in Chief in times like this.

Actually, there are many things which recommend him for the Presidency. And I am no McCain fan.

5. Very important that the Vietnam record was gone over, in this video. But everyone knows about it, right? No. Many citizens would have found out about this for the first time. (And many others would have needed reminding.)

Monitoring the DUmmies, in between many shouts of, "Not the POW crap again!!!" some attacked him for the "BS story line" about turning down an offer to be released because others had been there longer. "What BS! If that release turn down was true why are we just now hearing about it for the first time?"

Where have they been? Of course the commies would try to use the Admiral’s son for propaganda purposes.

McCain, character built from being “worked over” at the Hanoi Hilton.

Obama, character built from working over some Maui Wowie.

No, there’s more to it than getting that 10%. I see it in my parents, who have voted Republican their whole lives. They’re for some reason buying into this Obama nonsense about cutting taxes. They’re not fans of the Iraq war. They hear Obama’s pretty words.

It’s infuriating, really.

Obama has been all things to all people. It’s now time to dismember him from the fragments of policy he occasionally offers up between the endless platitudes.

I have a feeling we can pull away a lot of Obama supporters on that alone. The man is an empty husk just waiting to be obliterated.

Same here. The American people know substance trumps oratory every time. In the 19th Century, William Jennings Bryan was the great orator of his age. He lost the election of 1896, after proclaiming mankind shall not be crucified on a cross of gold, to the plainspoken William McKinley.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus

Yup. Styrofoam columns for a Styrofoam candidate. Looks good from a distance, but not strong enough to stand up to much heat.

I prefer McCain to Obama because of his love of country, positive outlook AND because he picked Governor Palin.

The bright-green background was sucky, sucky, sucky. So was the physical setup generally. Say what you will about the O-cropolis and so on — at least the Dems were professional and competent, in their conventioneering.

I disagree. Although I didn't watch Juan's speech, I thought the set of the Pubbie convention was sleek and modern. The 'Rat set, OTOH, was garish and very distracting to the eye. Lots of flashes and stuff always going off. It looked like the set of Do you want to be a millionaire.

I didn't bother watching Juan's speech b/c there was not going to be anything in it really that I didn't already know or that would really appeal to my conservative ideals and outlook.

A vote for McCain is a bridge to a President Palin. That alone gives me hope and has made me reconsider my vote this cycle.

Can anyone tell me - is that dude Hernandez still around or did Juan finally dump him?

McCain wants him as his “Outreach Director” to Hispanics. He’s also been a Senior Fellow at the McCain-linked think tank the Reform Institute for a couple years. If anyone had any doubts about McCain’s commitment to enact an amnesty, this should remove them.

I found the beginning of his speech a bit flat but the end quite stirring and compelling. Changing the sequence might have insured more people stayed awake and remained to the end. You know I’m not a McCain fan but he did come across far more presidential than Obama ever could and I was thrilled he credited our President with keeping us safe.

It takes a big man to admit he was broken by torture, which
I heard McCain do last night.

He has turned around this whole race in the matter of a week and I expect to see a heck of a bounce come out of it.
He will be pulling ahead until the finish.

The good thing about his taking government funding for his campaign is that money donated now will go to organizations
that can bring much needed support to candidates that we need to turn the house and senate our way.

McCain, character built from being “worked over” at the Hanoi Hilton.

It looks to me that B Hussein has instructed his minions to belittle McCain's stay at the Hanoi Hilton. It is subtle but there. If you listen to the "reviews" today, most mention the "over use " of his Bio. Ed Schultz ( lefty radio)was on Fox and one got the feeling he rolled his eyes mentioning the "bio".

IMHO, the word is to again spit upon the Viet Nam heroes, without actually spitting.
