...but experienced parents know that what one instructs isn't always practiced by one's little darlings.

Left-wing bloggers don't have kids - in fact, most of them are kids, regardless of age. They wouldn't know this.

“It is funny that men who are supposed to be scientific cannot get themselves to realise the basic principle of physics, that action and reaction are equal and opposite, that when you persecute people you always rouse them to be strong and stronger.”

Gertrude Stein

What will not destroy the Palin family, will make them stronger. I hope they all see how very much America needs a political leader of Sarah’s character in Washington DC, and I applaud their sacrifices.

Matthew 5:1-12
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain: and when he had sat down, his disciples came unto him:
2 and he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

An impaled person is helpless. I do not see Sarah Palin as impaled or helpless.

Republicans have been lip-syncing, "OMG."

That's funny. I could have sworn I saw them chanting, "Sarah, Sarah."

>it seems that the republicans have no stomache for the rhetorical “war” that the left has been engaged in

RINOs may not have the stomach..but real Republicans do. I expect a GOP firestorm to commence as soon as the gavel drops to close the convention....and that will separate the wheat from the chaff in the party.

But the ‘Pubbies don’t have the guts to take vengence on their enemies.

I don’t know about you but I have been astonished by the fighting high spirited attitude by the McCain campaign. I even sent 100 bucks to the RNC which I thought I would never do this year.

The campaign had been a breath of fresh air from (never fight back) Bush who let his enemies define his presidency.

Victor Davis Hanson: To Palinize...

Not this week, perhaps—but soon there will be a backlash against all this creepiness. Just watch...

Thanks neverdem. I think the writer still got some subtle and not-so- digs in, and regurgitated the meme that Obama had nothing to do with the smears. Very much worth a read.
Would anyone ever ask whether a male candidate was qualified for office because his daughter was pregnant? Some also have questioned whether Palin, whose son Trig has Down syndrome, can be both a mother and a vice president? These questions aren't coming from the right -- so often accused of wanting to keep women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen -- but from the left... what's perfectly clear is that feminism today is not about advancing women, but only a certain kind of woman. While we're exhausting irony, Palin would have been excoriated as a hypocrite had she or her daughter had abortions... There may yet be reasons to find Palin an unacceptable vice presidential choice, but making pro-life decisions shouldn't be among them. Her candidacy, meanwhile, has cast a bright light on the limitations of our old ideological templates.
