I was never for Palin. I felt that she way too many home responsibilities to be able to do justice to the VP job.

Would you feel the same way if Todd Palin was the Governor of Alaska and he was the VP pick?

These people are doing such a good job of getting me more angry and disgusted to the point that I’m giving so much money to McCain and Palin that we may have to eat Ramen noodles the rest of the month.

I really hope McCain says something about these rumors today, something like, “The way Obama supporters on the internet and in the media have tried to smear a 17 year-old girl for political opportunism is despicable.”

I was the child of a 16 year old mother way back in the dark ages of 1964.

Obama was the child of an 18 year old mother way back in the dark ages of 1961, and she was not married when she became pregnant (married 2/2/61, gave birth on 8/4/61).

The Obamatrons should back off on this, lest they prove themselves to be hypocrites once again, not that that seems to bother them.

Nobody celebrates an unmarried 17-year-old getting pregnant, least of all the 17-year-old involved. But like a bell, it is a little hard to unring it once it has happened.

What happens, is a series of options opens up. All of them involve a great deal of commitment on the part of the person, and those around that person.

First thing on the table, termination, is not an option, and should not be. Thus, only carrying to term, and trusting in the guidance of close relatives and acquaintances, is left. The fetus may spontaneously fail, and in the natural course of things, is not born alive. Much more likely, the child is born alive, and healthy. This is where a whole other set of options kick in. The child’s father may have agreed to become the married partner of the mother before the birth of the child, or at least agreed to accept responsibility for the child, the former preferred over the latter. If the father fails at the responsibility test, then the early support of the infant and its mother falls to others in the close circle of relatives and acquaintances.

The Palin family seems tho have fallen into the category of providing close support, and accepting the prospective son-in-law as part of the family. This is the kind of behavior that should be encouraged at every level of American society.

And has not been, over these past several decades, because of misplaced “compassion” for the “plight” of the young unwed mother, where this “compassion” involves isolating and taking into a life bondage, the single mother and her children.

I believe Barry said something to the effect of, “ I don't want my daughter to pay with her whole life for a mistake made while she is young-keep abortion safe and available for all women.” Mrs. Palin could easily have convinced her 17 year old daughter to kill the child (Gov. Palin is brilliant and could surely have convinced her daughter to kill the kid), but just as she did when she found out about her Down’s baby she supports life. Above all ambition and any earthly power she supports life. If a messianic figure (in spite of the media annointing Barry) exists in this race would not one compare Mrs. Palin to that figure. Jesus was tempted with all earthly power and chose to fulfill his Father's plan. Mrs. Palin has definitely chosen God's design in keeping these children alive. Seriously folks, she restores my faith in our society to a large extent.

Same here Jenny. I’ve got a ton of stuff enroute from the McCain-Palin store. Caps, bumper stickers, yard signs, etc.

I have donated 3 times since Palin was announced.

I’m a very, very small part of that 10 Million bump.

:)

You don't think she could handle Al Gore's old job and raise her kids?

In her toe-to-toe face-off with the governor, Sarah once again refused to back down. She fired off a guest-opinion piece to the [Anchorage] Daily News. “It’s said the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick,” she wrote. “So, with lipstick on, the gloves come off in answering administration accusations.”

After slamming Murkowski for “hiring his own counsel, paid for by the state, to investigate his long-time friend, confidant, and campaign manager [Renkes],” Sarah concluded by writing, “Despite those in Juneau who think otherwise, it’s healthy for democracy to ask questions. And I’ll bet there are hockey moms and housewives all across this great state who agree.”

Two months later, Renkes resigned.

re: you can’t hid a 5 month pregnant body on a young woman.

I thought it strange while watching the McCain/Palin roll out event on Friday that the one girl held the baby in the same place in front of her for the entire appearance. I remember wondering why she didn't move him around some, it looked like the baby was in very awkward position to be held for that long. Ahhhh, now we know. Nothing hides a 5-month pregnancy like a 5-month old little brother.

I am not the least bit surprised at the response of many on the Left and in the MSM. I fear it will get worse, maybe much worse, before it's over. I'm not sure we've ever seen the Lefties/MSM cabal at its very worst, this just could be the case that brings it out in them.

Sarah Palin is their worst fear. A female who has made it on her own in a man's world, and a conservative female at that. This has got to be just killing them!

"I'm dying to hear what El Rushbo has to say about this one. Any guesses? Will he suddenly celebrate 17-year-old children running out and getting pregnant?"

No, actually I think he will do lefty talking points...run around, party, have sex and dump the evidence in the trash so the "punishers" on the left won't get ya.

"Will he praise parents for not teaching about birth control and not supervising their teenagers?"

Will he talk like a lefty parent and tell the kids to party all night, get STDs...do whatever feels good because there will be no consequences anyway.

"Will he claim, as McCain is doing, that the presumptive nominee really knew about the pregnancy when he was picking his vice?"

He already said that, the pundits on Fox already said that, Laura Bush already said that, Karl Rove already said that...guess you missed it.

"Will he claim that family matters should be kept out of the election, as Barack Obama has already said?"

Anyone with half a shred of decency or a brain knows that...next question.

Seriously...this is the party that freaked out when reporters asked Obama questions about his past and about running a government on the campaign trail? What a bunch of wimps going after a young mother!! No you can't! No you won't!
