I looked over the rest of the platform for the AIP and kind of wished they had a chapter in Ohio
The Mainstream media won’t get this, but politics in Alaska has shifting labels yet the concept is the same.....most try to “out-Libertarian” the other. With the very popular former Governor Wally Hickel jumping on the AIP at the time in his 1990 Governor’s race, many gravitated to that party. It would be logical for someone like Palin to then sign up.
Few that year wanted to vote for Arliss Sturgilewski or Tony Knowles.
As to this AIP nonsense...she became a Republican, after all. She has expressed approval of Ron Paul (saw that on youtube) and there’s a reformist libertarian streak in her; one senses a healthy distrust of government, and a good old-fashioned regionalism. This can only help us with the independent voters.
She also expressed approval of Mitt Romney, too, which is surprising.
Well, Barack Obama had an African Socialist father and a fellow-traveler mother, was raised as a Muslim in Indonesia, had a communist mentor named Franklin Davis, had two radical leftist terrrorists named Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn give him an early assist in politics, listened to the curious Reverend Wright for 20 years, and got a mortgage through a pal named Rezko who is now under indictment. But none of that seems to matter.
Wasnt Robert Byrd once part of the KKK?
This is a completely non-issue.
AIP “story” already debunked...
in the same story that started it ( http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/members-of -frin.html ):
“Governor Palin has been a registered Republican since 1982,” Rogers says, providing some voter registration documentation showing her to be a Republican. “As you know, if she changed her registration, there would have been some record of it. There isnt.”
Rogers says the McCain campaign provided ABC News with all the voter registration information that exists. Rogers says that Palin didnt attend the AIP convention in 1994, “but she visited them when they had their convention in Wasilla in 2000 as a courtesy since she was mayor.”
He would not comment as to why AIP officials are so convinced Palin was a member of their party. When asked if Palin ever identified herself as a member of the AIP, Rogers said, “No, she’s a lifelong Republican.”
The leftists are flailing now and missing with every wild haymaker.
Looks like there is no there-there....
