Holy Carp. Took me 20 minutes to be able to get a page up on FR It’s an important day.....is this how FR is going to be during this whole election?????!!!! I’m ready to throw the computer down the hall...

BUMP!!

The page reset and timeout error messages are getting very annoying.

Hubby just said...don’t worry about the 18-30 male vote...they may not think change is so great after taking a look at Palin...change may equal becoming Republican ;-)

Mark Levin's take on "inexperience":

From a purely tactical aspect, Palin would knock the legs out from under Obama's monopoly hold on "change." And attacks on her "inexperience" will only highlight one of Obama's greatest vulnerabilities — and he's at the top of the Democrat ticket. And because Hillary Clinton spent months telling women voters that they are being dissed by Obama, some percentage of women who normally would not vote for McCain will take a second look if Palin's on the ticket. There is no question that a Palin selection would cause the Obama camp headaches.

My question exactly - I’ve seen comments throughout the whole DNC about slowness on the site - won’t the RNC days be even busier? So how does that bode for election night??

I like the Palin selection.

Well, I have not posted in a couple years. Being from Alaska and meeting Palin and living in Wasilla and voting for her to be the mayor there; years ago, and watching her as mayor I am now VERY excited about politics again. My husband died four years ago when I was a very active participant here made me change my priorities. I didn’t care anymore. NOW??? I can't contain my excitement. This woman is a mover and a shaker. She is a Barracuda, and she turned the economy of Wasilla around like a speeding bullet. Our property values doubled in a couple of years under her term as Mayor.

I'm pumped up about this election now. I just wish Palin was the top of the ticket. Maybe in a few years, huh!

How the heck is he supposed to make a campaign issue out of Obama’s inexperience when he’s got a running mate with 2 years as governor

LOL. It' STILL more than Obama. She's also been a mayor and held actual jobs.

You're a glass half empty kind of guy, aren't you? This is a great pick...far superior to any of the other choices that were mentioned.

And what does it say about the Republican Party’s commitment to “family values”, when it sees fit to nominate a mother of 5 children, including a disabled, still-nursing infant, to be VP and step in as POTUS if necessary?

It says a lot. She has a husband, doesn't she? I'm sure she can handle being VP and a mom too.

How the heck is he supposed to make a campaign issue out of Obama’s inexperience when he’s got a running mate with 2 years as governor of a sparsely populated state while being a full-time mother, um, on the side?

Obama is inexperienced and running for President. McCain is experienced and running against him. Gov. Palin is not running for president.

Obama is in a bad position to make her inexperience an issue. He is not running against her.

The more inexperience becomes an issue the better for McCain. - Tom

Anyone can launch a website. That doesn’t make it official. There were a number of such sites up last week for various Obama choices. All were fraudulent sites. Unless this site can be directly tied to the official McCain site, I’d be cautious.

Cynics will say McCain picked her for two reasons: the name rhymed and she's a woman. I think though McCain wanted to get away from the Senate-Senate pairing and his choices were either a House member or a Governor. If it wasn't a white male, either Lt West or Bobby Jindal would be solid choices. As it is, the pick underscores that Obama could have reached to women voters but didn't. They will now be giving the GOP ticket another look. Comparisons will be made with Walter Mondale choice of Geraldine Ferraro twenty four years ago as the first woman veep, so this is not exactly historic for a major party.
