I heavily edited the excerpt - please read the original at: http://www.wtkk.com/Hosts/JaySeverin/tabid/58/Default.aspx

This guy is a former political consultant (26 years) and hosts a radio program in Boston. He is virtually NEVER wrong.

It's important to add his follow-up post:

"APPEARING ON THE MICHAEL GRAHAM SHOW THIS MORNING, A BOSTON HERALD COLUMNIST REPORTS HER SOURCES WITHIN MCCAIN CAMPAIGN POINT TO CHOICE OF MINNESOTA GOVERNOR TIM PAWLENTY.

(IF TRUE, A DISASTER.)"

I don’t think Mitt could even help McCain carry his home state of MA. It ain’t Mitt.

It’s a great ticket. Between the two of them, they have all sides to all issues covered.

How can one get excited about Pawlenty?

I don’t think Pawlenty will be a disaster. I’d rather not have him have a leg up on the Presidency, but I don’t think he hurts McCain.

I don’t think Pawlenty does much of anything, but frankly the VP pick rarely does.

Sean Hannity said a few minutes ago that the pick will be known just before his show goes off the air today, or just before 6:00 pm EDT. He thinks that is coming from a reliable source.

I think McCAin does just the opposite of what you think. Here he has one us back to him. He has a chance to pick someone who can help him win and also once he’s president. Mitt is a strong candidate and true team player. He’s seasoned and vetted. It makes no sense for McCain to pick anyone else unless he’s an idiot...

“IF TRUE, A DISASTER”

How so? I don’t know the guy, but his resume is great.

NOBODY could help McCain carry MA - except Karl Marx.

I’m speaking as a former resident.

When did Romney become a conservative? I am still perplexed by all this Romney conservative talk. Look at the record not the rhetoric.

internal McCain polling shows that of all people he is considering for VP, Mitt Romney attracts the most votes.
The "most votes" for.....?
If that was fact than why did he lose the primary and had to quit?

Did you read the poll results above? Other polls show he helps Colorado and picks up TWICE as many voters in Florida than Crist.

It may not be Mitt, but I certainly agree with Jay,as I am one who has said and meant since March that I will ONLY vote for McCain if Mitt is the VP.

Whatever you think, you and others prejudices are not letting you see the bigger picture. LOTS OF PEOPLE LOVE MITT!

Pawlenty SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Go ahead, Pick Pawlenty if you want to lose McCain. Boring, soft spoken voice, not very articulate, doesn’t have a strong presence etc....

Palin, Jindal or Mitt

“if McCain does not choose Mitt, McCain loses.”

Bull(bleep) there is more than one Republican that Mac could pick that would help his candidacy, not JUST Mitt.

I think that Jay’s thesis is that only Mitt can help McCain win.

Not sure I agree with that - but I don’t think Pawlenty would do it.

Myth Romney, getting ready to hand out the fake trooper badges.

Myth Romney, front and center, laughing away
like a true socialist-fascist installing HillaryCARE=RomneyCARE
launching Massachusetts to the highest cost of health care insurance.

Romney wiped out Massachusetts.

The five states with least favorable business climates are Califorinia (lowest ranking), New York, Michigan, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Romney was rated a "C" overall by Cato. Here are the facts.

As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal.

Remember Huck calling Rush this week to “clear up” his trashing of Romney all over TV for months?

I thought it was because McCain asked him to in the wake of choosing Romney.
