BS....you're talking about a 3/8 mile shot. You don't get 3/8 mile away inside the convention room. And you don't get a shot into such a building from 3/8 mile away.
A 6 story jump is a minimum of 60 feet and probably more. I'm guessing that the jumper hits immovable object at 50 mph, and more if it's higher. (Let's say your car hits a concrete wall at 50 mph...)
Or, there was no plot, the guy was methed out, had a gun, and started mouthing off when he was stopped.

Let me get this straight. A pickup truck with white people and rifles in it are seen driving erradically. So naturally(?), a cop pulls them over and asks them if they are plotting to assassinate obama?!??!!?!

I can’t believe this story for a second.
Now the cops have probable cause to pull over all white people in pickups because they might be plotting to assassinate a black person campaigning for something. Is that about it? Am I getting this correctly?

If this guy can’t even drive, how in the hell did he get his rifle sighted in at 750 yards?
The west side is in shadow, but I don't see any thing that might be an awning. I also looked at the building from several "street view" vantage points. I can't be sure about the west side.
I really can't tell anything about the windows from the image, either. But, I've been in a lot of hotels with "integral" windows that wouldn't be obvious from the outside.

Drugs can act as a truth serum. If these dudes were whacked out on coke or meth they would be a lot more talkative and might spill the beans on themselves very easily. Maybe a “weak link” in the group didn’t want to go through with whatever it was they were planning and used the stop as an out. As for why the questions were even asked in the first place...who knows...maybe there was a tip off beforehand..maybe LEO’s were asking based on the weapons found.
