Sigh... Brazos County, Texas (between Dallas and Houston) is an island of yellow/orange in a sea of green. Looks like some of the highest urban-area prices in the state. Figures.

Probably all those Aggies who don’t know better to check prices...

Ahhh, save it for someone who's more provokable. :-)

This Ag knows that the prices in town range from the low 3.40s (Sam's) to the upper 3.70s (various places). Happily, Sam's is along my route to work.

“SUDDENLY” as in, since Bush lifted the ban? If congress would do their part now, I believe gas could get down to less than 2 bucks a gallon. They dont want us producing our own oil, and will lowewr the price of theirs to whatever it takes to make it unprofitable for us to do so.

I'm surprised gas prices haven't completely plummeted..

Most Americans we know have nearly completely stopped all unnecessary driving.

We alone have reduced our driving time and miles by over 20 percent. It's not only the affordability issues, but I just hate getting robbed and screwed by these SOBs.

Right, but Alaska is a billion miles from civilization with many places difficult to access.

Illinois is right next door to a couple of the cheapest gas states in the country. That makes the 50-75 cent/gallon difference that much more ludicrous (and its cause that much more obvious).
