LOL. Probably very close to the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd made his selection more than a week ago and had intended to announce yesterday or today as had been leaked....but found himself suddenly without a running mate.
"Uh, Barack...gee, I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be able to do that VP thing with you after all. Would've been great and all, but my wife or mother or somebody--the kids! That's it, the kids--need me right now."
