The day Bill Clinton made war on the Serbs I knew it was only a matter of time before Russia would Morph back into a super power!
This made me sick on my stomach! Americans attacking Christian Serbs that had made scarfice to save American Pilots in WW2.
I am very sorry to see Bush agree to put the missile shield right in the face of Russia. This is almost as bad as slapping the people of Russia.

We have an allegedly ex-muslim running for president in the USA.

We really don’t need to be telling other people how to run their own country! We need some help ourself!

If there was action it may well be highly classified and you wouldn’t see it. Pay attention to the open source stuff like the treaty with Poland. Pay attention to what Ukraine is doing. More here than meets the eye.

Until we see the Russians withdrawing from Georgia completely, it doesn't matter what else we see or don't see. Stalin was a butcher, capable of (and did in fact) murder millions. Putin too, is capable of such genocide, however he is not a butcher, he is a surgeon compared to Stalin, and he isn't going to back down, for that would endanger his entire political power and support structure.

He didn't come this far to back off in the face of indignation and diplomatic protests from the West.

If we think this is ugly, Ukraine is going to be much, much worse, and much uglier.

I liked the guy from the UK who visited Georgia. He was advocating they tighten visa requirements for visiting Russians, who apparently like to go to London.

“Czar Putin is laughing his ass off.”

Yup.

We don’t have the huevos to deal with GD Iran, which is actively killing our troops (and we do NOTHING), and posters here think we’re going to launch some sort of military action against Russia?

Please.

A paranoid nation can always make a mistake with their nukes.

If we think this is ugly, Ukraine is going to be much, much worse, and much uglier.

Which is why we need to act NOW!

On a couple of other threads I've laid out a quick and dirty plan which would in about 6 months to a year render both Georgia AND Ukraine basically un-conquerable by any invader.

Pity their Governments aren't listening.

I have a feeling the bill for Iran is going to come due some time between November of this year and January of next year.

I agree with you. Putin is fighting a Soviet era conflict - with a Soviet era (dogpie) military - in the 21st century. Not gonna work.

What was on the CNN site about nuclear false alarms is public knowledge. The 1995 one with Yeltsin should perk people’s ears up about how paranoid the Russians are.

Not that it matters to me, I live in a rural area and have a fallout shelter in the back yard.

Poland makes a wonderful vodka called Luksusowa, I think its better than Stoli and it costs less too. I began to buy it when I discovered what good friends the Polish people are to Liberty and the US of course.

They are actually sending home the old junk T-72’s and sneaking in more T-90 & T-92’s. They haven't budged the SS-21 assault missiles, not a defensive weapons platform by any means, that sit within striking distance of Tbilisi. He is going nowhere, just sending home some old junk to trick the daft in the MSM...

Not if Vlad has no plans on stopping, he wouldn’t care. He may just plan to sweep through the Ukraine past Romania and into Bulgaria. At the same time he could press South through Georgia into Armenia, who would welcome them with open arms, then further South to hook up with Iran. I don’t know where Azerbaijan stands except that they are the only thing separating Armenia and Iran so I’ll assume their stand is precarious. He could have Turkey surrounded, the weakest NATO member in resolve, and Troops on the Israeli border by snowfall. Turkey would find NATO somewhat cumbersome in that event and the Russians could turn off the oil and gas. That cannot be allowed to happen, we must must end this now while we risk the least and the night aren’t too cold.

I have a feeling the bill for Iran is going to come due some time between November of this year and January of next year.

Yeah, the question is: will the United States have the political will to do more than make a token payment?

The mullahs and their pal Ahmajerkinoff need to go, if there was ever a case for regime change, Iran is it.

Thanks to our phuckwitted 39th President Jimmy STP Carter, once the Shah of Iran was stabbed in the back and overthrown, Islamofascist terrorists achieved something that had eluded them for decades, which was the actual capture and control of a modern 20th century nation-state.

The Shah was an authoritarian to be sure, but he was also a progressive leader and had brought Iran into the modern era, women had equal rights, they were not treated as property, and Iran was not a threat to the Middle East as we see now, but a force for stability and in fact had cordial relations with Israel.

Once the Assahollah Khomeini seized power with his little mullah helpers, Iran quickly became a rogue nation and a confirmed state sponsor of terrorism all over the planet. Iranian society was purged of pro-Western thought or sentiment, those thought to be sympathetic to the Shah's former regime were imprisoned or murdered outright, the Iranian standard of living plummeted along with the collective IQ of what was once an enlightened and tolerant nation. All of it thanks to Jimmy Carter's perfidy.

Unfortunately, our current Commander-in-Chief has turned over foreign policy to the appeasement specialists and memo writers at the State Department, and that is why we have not seen, and are not likely to see any military action taken against Iran unless the thugs in Tehran running the show are actually stupid enough to do something like attacking one or more of our naval vessels, or sinking a tanker in the Straits of Hormuz, or something like that. Apparently the Bush Administration isn't too worried about Iran obtaining a nuclear capability, as they continue to issue statements, express their 'concerns', and other Chamberlain-ish gestures, and this has only emboldened and encouraged Iran to pursue their goals with even more determination.

It may well fall to Israel to take out the Iranian garbage stinking up the neighborhood, and hopefully when they do, they will at least receive covert support from the U.S., if not open approval and assistance.

John Bolton has already defined the situation expertly, which is that the only thing worse than taking military action against Iran to eliminate their nuclear potential is to allow them to become a nuclear capable nation.

I hope and pray that our President will come to his senses in time to realize that Condi the Piano Player and her crew at State are undermining America's security.

And if Obama-lama-ding-dong somehow gets elected President?

We'll have two choices: convert to Islam and learn Farsi, or head for the hills and unwrap all those weapons and ammo we've been hiding for years because the terrorist hordes won't be far behind.

And you do realises that nobody wins then. Every major city in both Russia and U.S. ceases to exist. No winners.
