I don't know where those planks will be going but my mom is going to go with them.
I really suck.
I think one of them is already a mom, IIRC.
Because they HATE him!
I know you knew that ;)
Yes, I saw that.
I think being in China made them MORE appreciative of what we have in America..when they say it, it’s almost like they’re saying it for the first time...I’m not saying they are, just that it sounds like it’s fresh in their minds.
Saw it! Loved it!
I think it's a combination of wishful thinking, and the fact that they don't personally hang around with people who would like President Bush.
I find myself extremely disappointed in his communication skills, but I also respect his ability to focus on the bigger picture, and I think History will be very kind to his watch.
“I was watching with my dad, he looked at me after they thanked Bush and said, well, I guess they wont be on Letterman next week.
That says it all. Maybe the committee will review the rules they used to take Jim Thorp’s medals away from him.
That makes One Hundred and Nine (109) games Misty and Kerri have won without a loss.
China is one of the most repressive countries on our planet. I agree that winning in China has to make the USA statement even more powerful. Good for them! They earned the Gold and they deserve the Gold! I always love to see athletes who will acknowledge the abundance which they have received from living and thriving in the USA.
Well I’m off to bed with uplifted spirits.
Glad to share the moment with you folks!
“Lots of beach Vollyballers are conservative.”
That shouldn’t surprise. The discipline and self-reliance athletes need to achieve this level of success in sports that don’t pay as much $ or receive as much attention/notoriety as some others, are VERY conservative values.
But I have to admit, Kobe won me over in his Collingsworthless interview .. I don’t care how many zillions he earns a year. You go, Kobe!
Awesome. Also, Debbie Phelps talking about how emotional she was to see her son, Michael Phelps, race. She said it was so amazing to see the President and his family there cheering on Michael, and waving to him.
I know that kind of talk drives every wacked out leftie crazy.
Loves it!!
I’m always surprised (although I know it beforehand) how many of the athletes who represent other countries live and train in the US....I’d like to know that number.
I bet Tom Selleck is proud.
People get so patriotic during the Olympics that the censors at NBC didn’t bother to bleep out the positive reference to our president or women looking forward to having baby Americans. Perhaps the job of being a censor always goes to the lone conservative, since the liberals don’t get why they can’t fill the airwaves with continual smut.
Michael Phelps has also talked about his conversation with President Bush, after he won his 8th medal.
Phelps: "I just got a call...and was on the phone with President Bush. So uh...it was pretty cool...uh...he actually told me to give my mother a hug and say it was from the president. So, that was pretty cool and we just talked for about five minutes...I actually met him after the 400IM and he came down onto the pool deck and we got to take some pictures so it was pretty cool."
