Unfortunately Marylnad is true-blue Democrat. Somehow, miraculously, Ehrlich was able to get in for one-term (even defeating a Kennedy in the process) as governor, but now it’s Marty O’Malley and the Dem machine. Michael Steele couldn’t bust through in 2006.
I hear you. I don’t know that much about Maryland politics, and it sure looks like Van Hollen is safe. However, I hope the gas price anger and the arrogance factor can shake some things up. I notice that tho’ Van Hollen is the “ Vice Chairman of the bipartisan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus”, he has nothing on his homepage about the energy crises. Surely the brain dead soccer moms in his district have got to be feeling the gas pains.
But, going after the non safe dim disticts nation wide, especially the so called “Blue Dogs”, has got to be a priority...

The executive Ban put in place by President Bush #41 has already been lifted. It is the Congressional Ban that prevents proceeding with Offshore leases, exploration and drilling.
