It’s better than the current one. “Lesser of two evils.”

Agree. The older I get, the more I realize that there are few one size fits all solutions. Utah is not Georgia, is not New York is not California. Completely different ways of life and world views change with geography.

The problem is we have a class of beltway bureaucrats who want to rule every aspect of our lives from that tiny city. Crusaders who are looking to establish utopia here on earth make me nervous - usually lots of people end up hurt or dead. I think the core issues are one that could unite a diverse group of politicos from various regions.

Miller admits that he is still evolving, and his views are sounding to me more conservative/libertarian than classic welfare state liberal. He is tough to pigeonhole politically. I listen to his radio podcasts almost daily, and I think he has a reasoned position on just about any topic, even if I do not agree with him.

His stance on the War on Terror, and his support for President Bush, have been unwaverng. In fact, he thinks so highly of Bush's effectiveness since 9-11 that he makes note of it almost every day, and says that Bush will be remembered as a great president if that is all he ever did (keep us safe here after 9-11). Miller is also very respectful of the military and goes out of his way to thank every serviceperson or vet for his or her service.

He is uncommonly respectful to all callers, even the carzy ones.

Did you read what I posted? I gave Miller and other liberals like Voight and Silver credit for standing with Bush in the WOT. In fact, I called them patriots. What more you you want? Repeating those kudos as you did, doesn't make them more true.

>>>>>Miller admits that he is still evolving, and his views are sounding to me more conservative/libertarian than classic welfare state liberal.

Did you read the article? Miller rejects any attempt to label him as a member of "conservative talk radio". Also, he considers most of his listeners to be very low key folks. While he thinks highly of Rush Limbaugh's broadcast skills, he took a swipe at Rush by making fun of gun advocates. Miller also makes a mocking remark about Hollywood's “Friends of Abe” club. Which, btw, sounds to me more like a Republican club, than a gathering of actual conservatives.

Lastly. Dennis Miller has never repudiated the remarks he made on Sean Hannity's radio show. His liberal views on fiscal issues don't sound like those of a libertarian. On social issues he is a liberal. No doubt about it. This fascination with calling Miller a cosnervative, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm telling you, Miller is NO conservative. In the spirit of Scoop Jackson, he backs the WOT. Fine.

OTOH, Miller also said that if Obama was elected, "He’ll be my guy." Chew on that one for awhile.
