Yes, that wasn’t even a presidential election year. I don’t know that it was his error or an editors typo, there are many mistakes at the online Bulletin. This article wasn’t even paragraphed as many others haven’t been.

I’m trying to remember one time that Obama has made a positive comment about our country.

Hopefully, constantly tearing down America with him being “the one” to revive her, is getting real old with the public.

Even on a one on one basis, hanging around someone who is constantly negative results in the listener wanting to beat feet.

The only time I recall is when the Democrats gave him the nomination, which in Obama's mind is the most significant event in US history. We certainly know dozens of things about America that Obama is not proud about.

Yep, I remember watching the interview in ‘79. The network premiere of “Jaws” was on ABC that night and I kept switching channels to watch parts of the movie during the commercials.

Agreed...I guess he feels he has to tear down America to justify all his nonspecific changes he wants to make. Real Americans are fed up with it, maybe some that are borderline will get fed up too.

Yeah, back in the good ol days when most men spent at least 10 or 12 hours behind a plow looking at a mules pratt and then die young. Women and children often died in birth and a a fellow had the freedom to step on a nail and die of tetanus. Yep, it sure was great!

Correct...Of course a lot of our younger generations can’t relate to that, to them it was the “dark ages” because it didn’t happen to them.

The question about why Kennedy was running was secondary—part of the MSM’s revisionist history version. The key question by Mudd was how Chappaquiddick happened. Kennedy meandered off about the back roads of Massachusetts as he tried to explain himself and recover from his dissembling. (BTW, there is no way he could have made a sharp right turn off the paved road to the ferry by mistake. His explanation never held water.)

Much of the show was devoted to the Chappaquiddick incident. During the interview Mudd repeatedly questioned Kennedy about the incident, and at one point directly accused him of lying. During the interview, Kennedy also hurt himself by giving what was considered an incoherent answer to the question “Why do you want to be President?”, and by calling the US-supported Shah of Iran “one of the most violent regimes in the history of mankind”. “Teddy” is credited by several sources with inflicting serious political damage on Kennedy. The Senator went on to lose the nomination to Carter."

Mudd was never heard of again (sort of) until he showed up as a host on the History Channel.

Yes, Sen. Barack Obama doesn't have a clue, as to why he is running for the highest office in the land.

Of course he knows why he's running for President. It's just that "remaking the United States into a communist country" isn't a very campaign-friendly answer.

I still say that the DNC is not going to nominate him for the Democrat ticket. My money (actually my dinner) is on Hilary or someone else. Barry Soetoro (Obama) is divisive and as I've said before on his merry way to a mental breakdown. He has to spend a lot of time "thinking" trying not to make mistakes? He's the only one who can stand to listen to him for more than a brief period of time. The voice is a total put-off. He has no agenda other than getting elected. He has no plan for the future of the USofA unless he's made the same deal with the Imams and Mullahs that his cousin Raila Odinga made over in Kenya. Maybe that's a question someone needs to ask him.

Few are willing to really consider the individual motivation for seeking a high office. The Greeks thought it "Thymos" that drove men to seek leadership and excellence. A discussion of this can be found on FR: HERE.

Another view would be that Nietzsche whose "will-to-power" covers more ground since it also is found in everyone and the striving is as much for excellence and meaning as some vague concept of thymos.

In any case, if we are honest with ourselves we don't want ordinary people for leaders and we do want people who express a desire to lead.
