Prayers will go up for the repose of his soul.

Bernie Mac had political opinions and leanings, but respected his profession and audience enough that he wasn’t always forcing them on us.
He was a funny guy in a world that could always use a laugh.
Requiscat in pace.

I loved his show! It is so sad he’s gone and so young!

Yep...He told a joke at an Obama function that embarrassed B.O. and his handlers.

Funny that. Someone in good health rarely dies from pneumonia. Mac did have a lung problem, but doctors say it didn’t contribute.

Tin foil hatters...how hard is it to kill someone with pneumonia-like symptoms?

People don’t take pneumonia very seriously sometimes-it is still one of the quickest killing diseases around.

In 1997 my father, after 8 weeks in ICU, died from an anti-drug resistant strain of bacterial pneumonia.

He was feeling fine one day, came down with a “common cold” the next day and the following day was admitted to the hospital and immediately placed into intensive care.

When I was in my teens, I contracted pneumonia after a particularly bad upper respiratory flu virus and was out of school for more than a month and although I was young and healthy and physically fit, it took several months before I recovered completely.

Bernie had some very serious lung problems. His pneumonia was a result of infections in his lungs that occurred (he contracted) during his recent hospitalization. Sad thing. e caught the pneumonia infection while he was in the hospital. Pneumonia doesn't require 'cold weather.' Its a type of infectious disease. I've always associated it with cold weather also until learning more about what it really is.

Bernie will be missed...Great Guy. Married for 30 yrs to a fine woman. She and his daughter were with him when he passed.

RIP Big Man.

Pneumonia is what you want to die from when you get too old or have Cancer (far gone), in the old days some doctors wish they could have prescribed it.
Bernie will be missed, my favorite scene is his used car salesman speil... “do you moisturize?” Oceans series, RIP Bernie...

I had bacterial pneumonia in 1967 when I was in the service.I spiked a fever over 105 and nearly died.I made a pretty quick recovery after the fever broke, however.
In 1999 I had viral pneumonia-I was never dangerously ill with it,but it left me knocked -out feeling for a few months.
I take a pneumovax shot every 5 years because I am diabetic and have no spleen. If you get pneumoccocal pneumonia and have no spleen, you will die 90% of the time. The shot is highly effective.I lost an uncle and a friend from work because they died from bacterial pneumonia contracted during cancer chemotherapy.A simple shot could’ve made the difference.

Bernie Mac had sarcoidosis, apparently.

From Wiki:

Sarcoidosis, also called sarcoid (from the Greek sarx, meaning "flesh") or Besnier-Boeck disease, is an immune system disorder characterized by non-caseating granulomas (small inflammatory nodules) that most commonly arises in young adults. The cause of the disease is still unknown. Virtually any organ can be affected; however, granulomas most often appear in the lungs or the lymph nodes. Symptoms can occasionally appear suddenly but usually appear gradually. The clinical course generally varies and ranges from asymptomatic disease to a debilitating chronic condition that may lead to death.

I did a search to see if a thread was on yet at a glance saw about 3 or 4 going.

Larry King is featuring guests who were Macs buddies.

Talking about Obama and his calling B.Mac innappropriate the buddies on LKL just dissed OB for being a politician who will say anything as a politician thinks the folks want to hear.

Tough poop OB Bernic Mac is just that Bernie Mac...says the buddies.
