Reports suggest that the Russians are taking a beating on the ground despite their air superiority.

I think that the term “ethnic cleansing” has now completely lost its original meaning.

If Georgia falls, Ukraine knows that it’s next. Russia wants to control Europe’s access to energy.

Bring it on Putin! The lunatic creep makes no secret that he dreams of having a common border with Germany and Iran again.

As usual, Russia is the aggressor, the invader, the imperialist cause of war. The USSR may be dead, but Putin is doing the same thing Hitler did, invading. It appears that Putin has already killed 1,500 civilians. Will the world just sit and watch?

"The Ukrainian government, which has been enthusiastically arming Georgian troops from top to bottom, was in fact encouraging Georgia to attack and carry out ethnic cleansing in South Ossetia," Arming the Georgians I could believe; but encouraging ethnic cleansing, never.
The Ukrainians have been trying to get the Russian Black Sea Fleet out of the Crimea for years. If the Russians sortie they might not have a port to come back to.

Ethnic cleansing. Try to suppress a rebellion, formented by Russia, and it becomes ethnic cleansing. Beats Hitler’s “the poles attacked us so we must go defend ourselves!”.

They may be just trying to warn the Ukrainians off.
Does anyone know if the Russians have been having military ‘Exercises’ near the Ukrainian border?
To: Kevin J waldroup

They may have a reason or two to be a little upset with Russia, given the circumstances surrounding the Ukranian election of 2004.

I would assume that after Russia started boycotting Georgian goods a few years ago, that probably included ammunition for Russian made weapons. So is it surprising that they turned to Ukraine, which has one of the largest Soviet Ammo Depot outside of Russia?
