Dear Elizabeth,
While I differ with you ideologically there are somethings that should transcend politics. I just wanted you to know that I have you and your family in my prayers and that I wish you the strength to get through these trying times.
I wish I could say I'm sorry for your husband but I can not understand what he did but I pray that you do not let this weaken your spirits. Cancer is bad enough by itself. My sister died from cancer when she was 21 shortly after having my nephew so I know a little bit about cancer and how stress only makes things worse.
That said, I wish you and your children well. There is nothing a man can do to make up for this kind of betrayal but you can do yourself and your children well by continuing to focus on your blessings and keeping your strength up. We can not let the value of our lives be measured by those who hurt us.
Prayerfully Yours-Mael
I must admit I am enjoying watching this weasel's life fall apart in the public eye. He deserves everything he gets. Hopefully jail is in his future too.
Since Elizabeth Edwards tried to foist her good-for-nothing husband off on the nation and shamelessly expoited her illness for political gain, I am having a hard time ‘ginning up sympathy for her now.
What nonsense. There are plenty of people in this world far more deserving of our prayers and concern than millionaires like Mrs. Edwards and her children. She is standing by her man and is perfectly willing to accept what happened. Even when she was out of remission, she dutifully supported her husband's run for the presidency and if you believe him, after she found out about the affair.
Pray for her? No, I am far more concerned about the welfare of the men [and their families] who are fighting and dying for us in the military, police, etc.
I think I’ll pray instead for the family of Andrew Whatshisname who Ms. Edwards let subject himself and his wife and children to ridicule and humiliation and disgrace to protect her pig husband from having to tell the truth. She did know in 2006 then didn’t she?
