Shooting dogs is SOP in many departments. The Milwaukee tactical squad has two suppressed MP5s so they can shoot dogs in the yard before they serve warrants. They refer to the weapons as hush puppies.I used to think I had a sick sense of humor... but this is just wrong.

Two lab puppies ain't enough for what the Mayor and his wife and mother in law went through, not to mention their two dogs. Here we have lawyers would would absolutely love to sue local law enforcement (or in this case, JBTs) and everyone else up the food chain for everything they can get and I think they should. National exposure with the appropriate public outrage is a good place to start.

I think the mayor and his wife will be delighted with two Lab puppies to raise up and be with them into their twilight years. Have you ever owned dogs?
I had two whippets as a kid. If some worthless cops came in and killed them I wouldn't be "delighted" if they just bought me two more in their place. I actually liked the dogs I had.
I would wager most people feel the way I do.

The "tactics" here involved some pretty standard stuff ~ warrants, knock on door, parcel addressed to homey. The "tactics" are jacked-up and have no place in what is supposedly a "free" country. And people who defend the use of these "tactics" are jacked-up bootlicks.

Most people do feel the way you do. That’s because unlike this piece of work, most people aren’t statist automaton twits.

Prince George's County police announced yesterday that they have arrested a deliveryman and another man who they say are involved in a scheme to smuggle marijuana by shipping packages addressed to unsuspecting recipientsGreat work - NOT!!!

The cops were caught lying, covering up, etcYes but two things. First the cops who got convicted and sentenced were white and the victim black and the Shirleyville (formerly known as Atlanta) administration black. Their (black) higher ups who organized the whole thing and whose ultimate responsiblility it was didn't catch any grief about it. And second, they murdered the woman, but their convictions weren't for murder, but for considerably lesser charges. So they really weren't convicted in the interest of justice, but of racial appeasment to ensue that the current mayor didn't lose popularity with her power base.
And a third thing that I just remembered. The usual jackboot lickers on FR were making the usual excuses for these JBTs when that incident first happened. I'm sure if anyone cared enough to dig back they'd find some of the same copsucker apologists making the same excuses then as now.

Yet several bootlicker Freepers defended this police action! The same group of government/police worshipers who got lost and ended up here instead of DU always do. There isn't a police excess that they can't in their - Sieg Heil (crap where did that come from)- minds excuse away. They should have been born in Germany in the 20's for their personalities to fully flower.

“...given what deputies and officers knew at the time.”
I’ve never heard of stupidity used as an actual justification before.

Supposedly these guys (from the county Sheriff's office) had no idea he was a mayor of a town. Cops can't be trusted anyway. Very territorial animals.
The cops are either very dishonest or very incompetent or very both

". . . or allowed time for destruction of any evidence."
How the hell are they going to destroy 32 pounds of pot in seconds? Eat it?
I saw the confiscated marijuana in a video on the news. It wasn't flaked leaves, like a jar of oregano, but rather entire dried plants at least 3 feet tall, with long leaves and woody stems, wrapped in heavy plastic.

What more could you want.Is "common sense" too much to ask for?
Leave it to the regulatory zealots to disreagard that as being of any particular consequence.

,,,and pay them back the thousands they spent on food, vet bills, training, etc. over the years, plus emotional tramua, psyciatric bills etc. etc. etc. When the Mayor and his wife stood up for a press conference yesterday to ask for an investigation, the wife broke down in sobs and couldn't speak. It did not look fake to me. She appeared horribly traumatized. People go into a grief process when they have to euthanize a beloved pet. But to see them murdered, and also to be tied up and have to lie on the floor in the dogs' blood for over an hour in what you thought was a free country, where a person is innocent until proven guilty -- you're looking at a huge case of PTSD, at a minimum.
