You go ahead and waste your time calling. Call away. They will never hear it and it will go in the VM trash. They will not show up on Monday and most of them are already back home.

I am not a whiner thanks so much for the insults.

People like you are why politicians are so slimy. You actually believe them. Things will not change until heads roll - literally. The system is so broken it needs a hard power rest. As for me I am about results not foolish plays on emotions. Gasoline will be back up over $4 by the end of August.

Do not confuse motion for progress.

BS, people like you are why politicians are so slimy. You refuse to vote for the ones that will do any good, and then complain your a** off when they do something with a little guts to it the way they did yesterday. Call and they won't hear me? What a stupid statement, they sure as hell heard me and thousands of other FReepers yesterday telling them to hold the dems feet to the fire, and they will. They will be back on the floor again monday. Call Nancy and tell her you want to join the democrats since you don't seem to want to be a conservative, I called her and told her to get her tail back to the house and do her job, she probably won't but at least I told her, or in fact I told her minions.

If you think being an activist for drilling is what makes politicians slimy then you have a very strange thought process, on top of being a huge frickin' whiner.

You probably shouldn't call, I think the house republicans have met their quota for whiners for the year.

You make a lot of of assumptions and throw around accusations. LOOK sparky I have been watching politician for a very long time and even worked on several campaigns INCLUDING Reagan’s TWICE!!! I have forgotten more about the big show in DC than you know. I have done business with the Federal Government for 25 years. I know what goes on. I, unlike you, have been there and done that. Not just some jazzed up keyboard jockey who really liked the last act of the big show. Don’t you get it? It was just their first campaign stop on the summer tour. I suppose you are die hard McCAin supporter too. ROFLMAO!!!

Yep...saw the video. And, you are correct. The MSM is not giving this the proper play. However, with enough shouting and cajoling, the Repubs could force the MSM to run the story and the follow-up.
This has all the characteristics of a pep rally in an empty coliseum.
Time to raise the voices, get the attention of the media outlets that will run the story. As more run it, the MSM will not be able to avoid it.

Thousands of FReepers called the press yesterday to no avail, except we finally got fox down there to cover it but they were not allowed cameras on the floor and took some phone videos, quite crappy actually. The MSM will not cover this unless they are forced into it. That is one reason we need to keep calling President Bush and asking him to recall the house in an emergency session, press would have to cover it then and it would show people that the republicans, but not the democrats, consider gas prices and emergency. Hopefully, but probably not, Bush will do it.

What was really good about yesterday was the excitement by the republican staff members as they took our calls, they couldn't believe anyone was getting wind of it and kept asking where we were hearing it, of course we all said FreeRepublic.com!

I thought the name of the author sounded familiar.

I used to hear Campbell on The Hugh Hewitt Show on KTLA; he really had
the experience to explain a lot of economics and the intersection
of guvmint and bidness.

I’m sure Pelosi hates him just as much as Sen. Reid hates Sen. Tom Coburn.
Campbell and Coburn don’t have to be political hacks in order to eat.

Campbell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the
University of California in Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in
business taxation from the University of Southern California.

For nearly 25 years, Campbell worked in the automotive industry.
He spent a majority of his career representing several automobile
franchises, including Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Saturn, and Saab.
Campbell is also a Certified Public Accountant who, prior to his
automotive career, was a tax accountant with what is now Ernst & Young
in Los Angeles.
