It’s a Mazda 6, 4 door sedan and we’re so disappointed in its efficiency. Heck, our Mustang got 27 mpg on the highway and it was a 6 cylinder. The mazda rides like a 4 cylinder so I really expected to get some good gas milage. Had I known, I would have stuck with mustangs because I love them. My husband rolled it, it went airborne, and landed on its side facing the other direction and all he got out of it was a few minor scratches. It had great power and the only thing we ever did to it in 11 years were two tune ups, oil changes, and brake pads. Tires when needed of course and a few minor maintenance things my husband took care of.

Not having your tires properly inflated can significantly effect your fuel mileage, so there is a tidbit of truth to what he is saying.

Of course to keep up with demand we're going to have to do better auto maintenance AND start drilling now, since we have artificially constrained increases to oil production for so long.

I wonder if his next idea will be a federal law requiring local and state law enforcement to pull over cars that look like they don't have enough air in their tires and write them a ticket if their tires are 5 psi or more below the recommended value. Of course half of the revenue from the fines would have to be given to the federal government.

How would they justify federal authority? Probably some nonsense about interstate commerce.
