Apartheid sucks, but so does the “new” South Africa.
They sure don't seem to care about what happened to the whites left in Rhodesia or those still in South Africa.
come to think about it, they didn't say a whole lot about whites butchered in Kenya and the Congo in the early 60s either.

frankly , i'm not sure what could have been done to preserve old "white africa", the only way to preserve it and the quality of life they enjoyed would have been partition.....but they missed their chance
now Africa is going back to seed...they became a minority in the Transvaal because they let so many workers in....just like we are doing woith illegals now

these are hard dlillemas but I can tell you if it makes you feel any better, the white man's time in Sub Saharan Africa is over unless the indgenous need his capital or technical expertise.

The great tragedy of the colonial era was that Europeans squandered an opportunity to make a real difference.
The new South Africa may be violent, but at least hard-working Black South Africans can live anywhere they want, attend any school they wish to, use any restroom and pursue other careers than miner, driver, cook, steward or cleaner.
There is no nation that has passed through what South Africa has passed through without consequences. Injustice leads to problems. South Africa’s future is up for grabs, we should stop making snide comments and try to work out ways to assist them.
We tend to forget that the Boers had 350 years to make a real difference and failed spectacularly. We forget that 350 years of Boer rule was a terrible and bloody affair. South Africa was born in violence and injustice.

when the Boers came to Souther Africa they had to deal with hostile and warring black tribes and fought them and conquered them they did....just like we did with the Indians here to some degree but in other area there were few if any tribes...just vacant land, few black tribes ventured that far south....
if you must blame someone for exploiting black labour, I think the Brits after the second Boer war did more of that

Just because the Brits were your strongest allies during the Second World War does not mean that they cannot be b*stards. It is a documented fact that American soldiers stationed in India were horrified and disgusted by the way the Brits treated the native Indians. (Check up the Bengal famine of 1943. The British army tried to help but the British led govt in Bengal didn't give a damn).
I am an African, I don't subscribe to "kill Whitey" and I don't believe Africans are saints. I think the Brits have not been honest to the Americans about what they were really up to in Africa and I think the Americans have been extremely gullible to believe most of the BS the British spew about Africa without verification.
If MacArthur treated the Japanese the same way the Boers and Brits treated the native Africans - not a lot of good would have come out of Japan.
Americans showed the World the best way to deal with a conquered people.

The libs and neocons in Washington and in Brussels want Russia to just shut up and become another property in the EU where the US can demand the US take in 100 million turks and 20 million arabs and north Africans.

I wouldn't be placing any expectations on europeans when it comes to their colonial behavior. The current african political climate is simply a reflection of the corruption and exploitation that was practiced there last century.
Let me respond. You don’t seem to know much about the history of South Africa or Africa.
1. The Indians were sent to South Africa as indentured servants (little better than slaves). This practice was common in the British Empire - large Indian communities exist in the West Indies, East Africa, Fiji and Guyana as a result.
2. A good number of the Africans were originally held as slaves by the Boers (till slavery was abolished in 1830 or thereabouts). A good number were FORCED to work in the mines. Many were chased off their land so they had no other option but to work on the mines.
