"...people have saw it fit...and things like that... And there’s going to be some consequences and repercussions..."

Obviously, English grammar skills are not a prerequisite to elected office in Gretna, Louisiana (and probably not for practicing journalism either).

I can explain all of this: he didnt break in, he feared for her safety and wanted to test her home security. He took the cell from her for fear of the cancer scare cell phones pose The punch in the stomach wasnt really a punch but a pre-emptive heimlich maneuver (safety first people!)
The so-called lap dance was actually a lap dance! I wanna have a brewski with this broheim!

The unemployed one from Texas actually used to live in NOLA - unemployed then too - but was forced to go to Texas when Katrina hit! Suffering from sooooo much trauma because of Katrina that she has been unable to focus enough to find a retain a job!

The other woman was identified as an unemployed female from Texas.

Unemployed? Heck, she was just waiting her turn.

Obviously, English grammar skills are not a prerequisite to elected office in Gretna, Louisiana (and probably not for practicing journalism either).

Gretna is the seat of Jefferson Parish (county) government. It was once a heavily German area on the outskirts of New Orleans, back when the French influence still lingered. To this day, the town hosts an annual German Heritage festival.

The overall demographic trends of New Orleans as seen after Katrina are, of course, chewing away at places like Gretna... hence the election of this thug to the state legislature. Still, there's a streak of stubbornness in the Gretna area - until a few years ago, the parish courthouse used to run a reduced staff on a very unofficial holiday known as Confederate Memorial Day.

Also, remember how local law enforcement officers stopped the Katrina refugees from walking across the Mississippi River Bridge? Gretna cops.

Unfortunately, the New Orleans Times-Spittoon covers *all* of the metro area, giving the journalistic impression that the entire region is as bad as New Orleans.

Louisiana + elected official = Democrat (with rare exceptions)

I will not tolerate someone attacking or threatening my mother or my sister. If you do that, you have a problem with me. And there’s going to be some consequences and repercussions.

Screw the law! Since I am PART of the process, I don't have to FOLLOW the process!

They fired shots over people's heads (black, white, even tourists trying to get the hell out on foot) to turn them back. It is a criminal shame that story never got told.

Firing shots in the air? Not much of a story, really. I mean, given the fact that some of those people bent on proceeding into Gretna had already begun looting and setting fires in Oakwood Mall, right up the road in Algiers.

That doesn't get much mention in the mainstream media either, does it?
