The Beverly Hilton hotel guard said he encountered a shaken and ashen-faced [Breck Girl] who he did not immediately recognize in a hotel men's room early Tuesday morning about 2:30 and was in a literal tug-of-war with reporters on the other side of the door." The Breck Girl was trying to keep the door closed, and the reporters trying to get it open! Man, it's just hilarious to picture this.

It was a struggle between the two Americas.

Maybe the newspapers are not writing about it, out of respect to the dying Mrs. Edwards, who doesn’t deserve this.

Yes, he is despicable. But, really, couldn’t they wait until she was gone before they revealed just how horrible he is?

Oh, yeah, you are right. She was sick....NOT DYING...she had been in a car wreck and walks with a limp. And as I recall, so does HE. He was tortured and beaten...had his arms broken and never set, then, was hung by the broken limbs to be beaten. At the time, he couldn’t even raise his arms. I would dare say that Mr. McCain may even had been just as “sick” as his wife, if not more so, having just spent 6 years in a Vietnamese prison camp.

Not much of a comparison between a man who had been deprived of even simple nessesities for six years-—like food, water, a bed, shoes...not to mention the companionship of a woman-—going a little wild when he got back home, and a man who has been adored and fauned over; pampered and hailed as a saint for taking care of his dying wife-—who is sneaking around hiding in bathrooms so that he doesn’t get caught..

John McCain divorced his wife in 1980. About 7 years AFTER he was released, iirc. Quite possible, as you suggest, that he was not right in his head after his experience even though years had passed. If you are right, then it is also possible that he still is not right in his head. You are not the only one who has started to wonder about McCain's mental state after hearing of his POW experience.

Other, who also suffered torture, did not commit adultery and dump a loyal wife. Bringing the Other Woman to the White House will not sit well with many women.

If he was this badly tortured, then why did he ask for a get-together with his former captors? Odd way for someone to act.

John McCain happened to be Carol McCain's second husband.

The comment was that McCain snuck around on a “sick” wife. And what he did was equal to what John Edwards is doing. I do not think there is any comparison. McCain was just as “sick” as his wife who had been in a car wreck. His body was just as hurt as his wife's, if not more.

Perhaps others that endured torture did not commit adultery, but he did. After being married for less than two years, and most of that, while he was away on missions; to a woman who came into the marriage with her own baggage, and two kids that he adopted...McCain and his wife were reunited. They didn't even know each other. They were hurt and broken. They didn't work it out. He was wrong, and he admitted it. She forgave him and supports him, for the last 30 years. It happens a lot. Maybe not to everyone, but to many. Even today. The kids coming home from war, to wives who had been through their own trouble...can not seem to get over it, and they get divorced. The kids do stupid things sometimes. I would hope that my son is not still defined by his actions today, 30 years from now.

I think Mr. McCain has proven that he matured, forgave his enemies, as Jesus told us to do, and is much better in his mind than most of us.

Apparently, going into politics makes you lose your sense of class. You suddenly find very ugly chicks a total turn on. Someone name a sexy political mistress?

I’m waiting...
