Strategic bombers. Both the U.S. and Russia have them. What do you think the U.S. operate? Think B-52 and B-1s. The Russian strategic air arm operate Tu-95s and Tu-160s as strategic nuclear air launched cruise missile carriers. Think B-52 using air launched cruise missiles in a stand-off attack? The Russians have the longest ranged cruise missiles. The Russian strategic bombers can stay thousands of miles away from their target and launch their missiles.
Nothing has happened since. Probably an understanding. What were the IRBMs withdrawn from Turkey? Thor?
