Now let me get this straight.... A group of independents uniting into a party? Isn’t that already a contradiction of terms?
Please respect that.
I admire your loyalty, though, and very best of luck to you. I certainly have more in common with you and folks like you than I do with McCainiacs, Bushbots, RINOs and mod/lib sycophants.

You have my attention.
The national motto:
E pluribus unum
Out of many, one.
Thank you.

Great news.
Tough brek for the other guys, though.
After the bile I’ve seen pouring from several of them, my sympathy level is rather low, frankly.
Will you and the good Dr. Keyes being drawing a salary from money taken in by the AIP?
Dr. Keyes, no. Me, maybe down the road. Who knows.
Do you have a problem with people being paid, or are you some sort of communist?
I can not imagine voting for John McCain. I completely support Dr. Keyes' decision to leave the Republican Party and continue to be a candidate. I think he'll be a great President, and am happy to do what I can to help him get elected this year. I've switched my own voter registration here in Maryland to a new party called Maryland Independent Party. If this party is successful in obtaining 10,000 signatures on a petition currently being circulated, I expect Dr. Keyes will be our nominee and his name will be on the ballot for President here, too, in November. And if no better candidate for Congress steps forward in my District, I will run.
It's been a real pleasure to get to know many fine folks across the country who are helping get America's Independent Party started up. I agree with Alan Keyes that these are extraordinary times, and that folks who understand this ought to ask themselves whether personal extraordinary action is warranted.
I encourage all of good will to check out the platform at www.selfgovernment.us and to help get Alan Keyes on the ballot in as many states as possible. The ballot access petition for Maryland is due August 4 -- and we could sure use your help on this. Everybody has skills and knowledge that can be applied to good effect in this effort. In these days of instant mass communication, it's as easy to persuade tens of millions as it is tens. There's plenty of time for Alan Keyes to win this election.
Best wishes,
Steve Schulin,
Candidate for Congress - Maryland's 4th District

Being paid? No. Hustling? Definitely.
I was here in Illinois when your boss and his littley syncophants were all over the state making promises they had no intention of keeping while they were taking people's money.
Alan Keyes and people in his campaign (you among them) flat out lied to people in Illinois, and the Illinois Republican party was poorer for having involved themselves with a crew like Keyes Inc.
You’re the one who’s lying, not me. And anyone and everyone that is actually involved with the AIP knows it.
Really? Did Keyes and his staffers promise people in Illinois that he would remain in Illinois following the 2004 election to help build grassroots conservatism, and did Keyes and his staffers accept campaign donations while making that promise?
If you can't answer those questions directly, please don't waste my time responding.
I can answer it directly, no problem.
I was the last dog standing in Illinois. I tried to put together a vehicle for Illinois conservatives to band together and oppose the Combine. They refused to come together. End of story. Your claims have nothing to do with reality. They’re just a malicious, lying personal attack.
That fact is that you and Keyes left Illinois the moment the money dried up.
Theyre just a malicious, lying personal attack.
No, we've just established that what I said was true: Keyes and his organization collected money under the pretense that he would remain in Illinois following the election, and that turned out to be a falsehood. Whether you and the good doctor ever intended to keep that promise, or whether you simply broke it when it became financially convenient I don't know, but the fact remains that Keyes and his staffers did not tell the truth.
And I haven't made this personal at all. This is about how you and Keyes conduct yourselves in your official capacities, whether your word can be trusted, and whether anyone in their right mind would subsidize you and Keyes with their hard-earned money.
I don’t owe you anything, and neither does Alan Keyes.
By the way, I’m still “in” Illinois. You just don’t know it.
Nope, you don't. I never believed a word you or Keyes said in 2004, so my money went to conservative candidates that (a) actually advanced the cause of conservatism and (b) had a modicum of shame.
All those people who believe your promises and give you Keyes money (you know, the money you and Keyes use to eat, pay your bills, buy your clothes, put a roof over your heads, etc) may think that you do in fact "owe" them something resembling the truth. Crazy, huh?
