Doctors approve of this method

Doctors kill unborn babies as well. You all cool with that?

Your post lacks the ‘segmental number’ for each picture hence you may be deceiving readers with a segment on the left which shows more of the ventricle than the one on the right ... which can vary greatly depending upon the ‘verticle segment’ being displayed. But then you already knew that and went ahead with your ploy anyway.

“When he was in the VA hospital a couple months ago should they have simply concluded that it would cost the taxpayers “tens of thousands of dollars a year” to care for him?”

Now thats a pretty big leap, actually I’ve been saying that those are two totally different situations and that people like Schiavo take away from resources that should go to a VA hospital. Thank you for helping me prove my point even further.

Doctors approve of this method in extreme cases

Please point out the passage that suggests that it is acceptable to deny a person food and water:

I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfil according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art - if they desire to learn it - without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.

I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about.

If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

What happened to “it’s wrong for the government to interfere with the family’s decision?”

Sigh. Think about that a while and post back whatever you come up with. Try.

“Doctors kill unborn babies as well”

I think abortion is horrendous after the formation of the Central Nervous System, otherwise a fetus is only a parasite-like body thats DNA is sequenced for it to grow a certain way when provided nutrients.

So, one day an unborn baby is "fair game" for the abortionist and the next it's horrendous? How Clintonesque.

The husband mismanaged the million dollars he was suppose to use for Terri and was bankrupt. The hospital and local tax payers would have had to assume the cost.

False, he blew it on lawyers.

Terri's family was willing to care for her and people had pledged millions to help.

I was only 18 when this issue was big, I’m sorry for not giving y’all more credit on this particular case. Terri’s case was a travesty.

This case is a lot scarier than the Terri Schiavo case. I believe the family should make the decision when life support should be removed. That may not be the perfect solution, but it is better than allowing either doctors or the government to make the decision...and, much as we all hate it, many of us have or will have to make that difficult decision at some point in our lives.

What made the Terri Schiavo case so difficult was that her parents and husband (the cad) did not agree. When the family disagrees, I favor erroring on the side of life. Especially in the Schiavo case where hubby had a lot to gain by removing his wife's life support.

What makes this case way worse than the Schiavo case is that in this case, the next-of-kin wants life support to continue. The courts terminated his right to make the decision about her life and appointed a guardian who promptly condemned the woman to death over the objections of her husband.

Should I ever be on life support and unable to make my own decisions, I trust my family to make that decision. I do not trust the government at all.

A bunch of us have spent years on this subject and the more you learn the more you will realize that Terri was the victim of cold-blooded MURDER.

“What made the Terri Schiavo case so difficult was that her parents and husband”

The husband should have been declared incompetent and not working in the interest of Terri so that the family would be given custody. As much as we don’t like this guy, maybe the evidence wasn’t good enough to take away custody.

Well, its just I’m used to dealing with Liberals in Austin that think we should keep uninsured, poor people that are in Schiavo’s situation on life support as long as the family wants.

I wish I would have asked your opinion on that a few posts ago.
