It gets even more weird when that guy who is scheduled to do your annual "checkup" happens to be the flight surgeon...
...whom one sees later that evening at a party.
Yes...it happened to me. ;o)
BTW...the nurse told me that the "checkup" was like looking up your nose.
I told her that would be preferable.
My wife’s OB-Gyn just had rapport
Southern, ducks, live in same neighborhood, now kids play ball together, anatomy.....I read up on stuff
it’s hard to define....I usually get on well with male doctors
and Ukranian nurses..lol
9 children?
wow!
Oh my goodness. Looking up your nose, indeed! LOL
Yes, I’m glad I’ve never run across any of my doctors in a social setting. :) My friend with the email list is a very matter of fact kind of gal. She’s now working with urologists. lol I bet her emails start revolving around urologist humor . . .
Between the two of you, you have enough material on birthing babies to fill a good sized book. ;o)
OB/GYN and urology humor?
I bet she’s a fun gal. lol
Hey!! Me too— except the hospital (that sent us away, not believing I was in labor) had to pay for all that.
“So right in the middle of a difficult delivery you transport the woman to the hospital and get admitted to a hospital emergency room so a OB/GYN who has never seen the mother before attempts to save the lives of the mother and child.”
right.
I’m not sure how I feel about criminalizing home births, but you’ve summed up the problem with it very nicely.
” Ive seen lots of normal deliveries turn into a disaster in SECONDS.”
point well taken.
“Our daughter wouldnt be alive today if wed tried a home birth. There was no distress, no prematurity, no bad signs whatsoever. (As an RN, Im familiar) She experienced birth asphixia and wouldnt have made it without immediate deep suctioning, oxygen etc”
just gave birth to number 8.
There was merconium present just prior to birth.
Lots of suctioning, beating on the chest and back.
Cord was very tight around her neck and she wasn’t responding well at first.
We couldn’t hold her for a few hours.
I was very glad to have excellent care immediately available for her.
“Would you like me to introduce you to the dozens of children I know that were damaged in hosptial births and in neonatal intensive care units?”
And what would have happened to those same children had they been born at home?
Biggest congratulations on your new little girl!
Welcome to the world little sweetie pie!
thank you very much :)
A nice happy and very quiet baby (thank goodness!)
