Liberalism, or the complete loss of one’s responsbility and consequences for anything resulting from those actions.
When Sen. Kennedy was hospitalized, almost six weeks ago, it disturbed me--in part, probably, because it served as a reminder of my own mortality; but also because one should not wish a gruesome fate upon political and philosophical adversaries. And when Tim Russert, a center-left (yet impeccably fair) journalist, suddenly collapsed and died a month ago, it shocked and saddened me. I said as much (in both of these cases) on both this and another forum.
More importantly, others--many others--expressed similar sentiments. Most conservatives, it seems to me, are not haters. We wish to debate ideas, robustly and with conviction; but we do not hope for the death of those who disagree with our views, or gleefully cheer when tragedy occurs.
Although some mainstream liberals comported themselves decency in this matter (Bob Beckel, with whom I seldom agree, spoke warmly of Tony Snow on a special edition of Bill O'Reilly's show Saturday night), this is not the case with much of the hard left. These folks appear to lack the subtlety that would allow them to distinguish between a philosophical adversary and an enemy.
The are absolutely deranged!!! At the doctors office the other day a perfectly pleasant woman went ballistic on me after seeing my’’ W 2004 ‘’tee shirt. She kept screaming ‘’your an idiot’’ ‘’your an idiot’’ at the top of her lungs.These people are really dangerous and they scare me!

There are many posters here on FreeRepublic.com who would be like that. The AdminModerator shut down many threads about Ted Kennedy because they were just out and out abusive.
I’ve seen enough trash from LIEberal scumbags posted on various video tributes to make my blood boil. Their venomous, hate-filled posts are typical of the average DUmocrat voter suffering from BDS.
I know Tony would say that every person has a purpose in God’s eyes, but I just don’t see these folks as anything more than wastes of flesh and hot air.

Granted, we don't leave those posts up, but we've got way too many hate filled folks here these days. Not so much a few years ago, but I have been discouraged of late at how more than a few here have behaved regarding personal tragedy when it happens to Dems. I'm just sayin'.
Glad to see all of you "good Americans" (read fascist nazis) are so understanding and tolerant of dissenting opinions. The International Red Cross is going to start investigating the criminal activities of the bush regime, so I watch how thick your Kool-Aid is in the future. Tony Snow was a hack. He was a mouthpiece of lies and deceit. You might want to celebrate what a great job he did for the fuhrer, but I can only rejoice in the fact that he is gone. My only hope is that I can get to his grave and urninate on it in person.
Just like Duncan Hunter said in one of the debates...the Republicans generally police their own and get rid of problems like Larry Craig. How many other Republicans were forced to fall on their swords due to phoney LIEberal "outrage"?

I’ll be honest..when Ted Kennedy was diagnosed I said that I wasn’t upset. I’m not going to lie. Do I wish him death and/or pain? Of course not. But let’s just say I didn’t shed a tear.
I posted the following, from a website called “Breadsite”, when the Kennedy story first broke. I have no use whatsoever for Ted Kennedy but he is still a human being, despicable as he may be. Till the exact moment he draws his last breath, forgiveness is available to him if he will only ask. We all should be praying that he does. I believe Tony would agree.
“A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a Seminary class, given by her teacher, Brother Smith. She says Brother Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.
One particular day, Sally walked into seminary and knew they were in for another fun day. On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Brother Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who made them angry and he would allow them to throw darts at the person’s picture. Sally’s girlfriend (on her right), drew a picture of a girl she disliked. Another friend (on her left), drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of Brother Smith, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on his face. Sally was pleased at the overall effect she had achieved.
The class lined up and began throwing darts, with much laughter and hilarity. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Brother Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn’t have a chance to throw any darts at her target, Brother Smith began removing the target from the wall.
Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus.
A complete hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus.
Brother Smith said only these words, “In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me.”
No other words were necessary; the tear-filled eyes of each student focused only on the picture of Christ. The students remained in their seats even after the bell rang then slowly left the classroom, tears streaming down their faces.”
There are many fine and compassionate folks here on Free Republic and on occasion a few of us may react a bit too humanly for our own good. But we aren’t bad people and that’s what we have the Mods for. Let’s not beat ourselves up too badly.
