And Indymac was a rather large canary in the coal mine.

Now Savage is attacking Phil Gramm over his attack on 'Whiners.' He says Gramm was responsible for pushing legislation that abolished financial regulations on Wall Street. He mentioned the Glass Segal Act:

Between 1995 and 2000 Gramm, who was the chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, received $1,000,914 in campaign contributions from the Securities & Investment industry.

My First Question: Why isn't Gramm in prison for taking bribes from Wall Street ____________ ? You do not even want to hear my second question. It would inflame all the neocons wannabes here 24/7 for two years. 'Nuff said.

Oh, well. Drink your Kool Aid. Nothing to see here. If you want to learn something of real benefit check my freeper page or go elsewhere.

I don’t think any of them should be bailed out: the banks, the investors or the borrowers.

Within hours of 9/11/2001 Hooper posted comments on CAIR's site telling Muslims (paraphrasing) to take advantage of the opportunity to teach Islam to one and all.

Just as the lady in the interview said, people nowadays are afraid of being accused of being Islamophobic.

They have used every tiny reason to push Islam on us and try to shut us up ever since 9/11/2001.

Yeah, I know all about IndyMac . . .

Regulators Seize Subprime Mortgage Giant IndyMac Bancorp

No the 'large canary in the coal mine' was Ameriquest. The company and its corrupt officers donated millions to both political parties. The CEO and CFO received Ambassadorships and golden parachutes as rewards. Ameriquest was deep into corrupt practices: Mortgage servicing fraud, bogus late fees, fraudulent 'legal fees' and illegal foreclosures. There was a reason why they paid for advertising on the walls of huge Texas stadiums . . .

They pretend to be out of business now. But they still are doing business as Long Beach Mortgage. There is something snaky going on with their DBA names [LB Mortgage dba Ameriquest dba LB dba LB Mortgage ad nauseum]

Hint: Maybe it makes the operation illegal in several states. 'Nuff said on this public forum.
