he called it "USC, the University of Spoiled Children." It's not an original joke, of course -- it's been around for ages, possibly even as long as John McCain himself -- but it said a lot about the man who wants to be president.

Jesse Jackson (D) talks about cutting off Obama's manhood for selling out and THIS is the day LATe's daily talking point?

I thought for a second and replied, “Why, yes, Butch... you should definitely tell your fiance that you went to USC”.

LOL

Nah — USC is detested by many — and even some alumni
good-naturedly accept the criticisms as they suspect much of the naysaying is rooted in jealousy.

No big deal here — and McCain’s comments will certainly please UCLA fans. Might even win him some votes here in CA.

McCain probably alienated himself from every USC alumni.

With that old cliche? Like the writer of this piece, I'm sure they've all heard it before.

I think Ann Coulter's idea to start the grassroots movement Get Drunk and Vote for McCain is the best shot McCain has at capturing any of the college vote.

Like he has a chance in California.

The odds are long but I'm an optimist. If I can just get this Get Drunk and Vote 4 McCain thing to take off....people in California do like to party.

I went to USC and worked my ass off to get good grades. We didn’t have computers or high-speed internet or IM or music downloads. I studied hard and got good grades. McCain trying to be a smartass, just sounding like a dumbass.

I first heard the moniker University of Spoiled Children from a USC alum; he earned his BS and MS from the school...

Yep. Earned my Masters there. Great school. Lotsa spoiled children, too. It's a very common joke there.
