Good quotes from
Charles Krauthammer also in this piece:
While seducing the hard-core MoveOn Democrats that delivered him the caucuses hence, the Democratic nomination Obama not only disdained the pin. He disparaged it. Now that hes running in a general election against John McCain, and in dire need of the gun-and-God-clinging working-class votes he could not win against Hillary Clinton, the pin is back. His country tis of thee.
In last weeks column, I thought I had thoroughly chronicled Obamas brazen reversals of position and abandonment of principles on public financing of campaigns, on NAFTA, on telecom immunity for post-Sept. 11 wiretaps, on unconditional talks with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as he moved to the center for the general election campaign. I misjudged him. He was just getting started.

Liberals shouldn't be shocked. If Obama ran as a leftist, he would lose in November. In their hearts, they know he knows it. Their cries of betrayal are amusing.

The New York Times editorial board went to bed with a virgin and woke up with a... A rather nasty case of genital herpes? After all, in a city where twenty-five percent of the grown-up population has it, that's to be expected.

A whore? All politicians sell themselves for votes. If the
New York Times expected Obama to maintain his political virginity forever, they were bound to be disappointed. In the end even an Obamessiah must reckon with the reality of earthly politics.

First, he broke his promise to try to keep both major parties within public-financing limits for the general election. His team explained that, saying he had a grass-roots-based model and that while he was forgoing public money, he also was eschewing gold-plated fund-raisers. These days hes on a high-roller hunt. Yea, that's what he said a few month ago, but back in April of this year, he snuck into San Francisco to raise money from the Gold and Diamond Plated Lefties
It's not like he all of sudden is going to start extracting donations from the hoity toity crowd.
