Daniel Boone was right! If he was alive today, his view would be all I need is a good gun, a good car and a good wife! The fact is self defense is a part of human nature and there are bad people out there in the world. I don't want to ever meet them but if they come for me and my family, they'll find a gun waiting on my end. I'm not one of those idiotic Yale liberal professors who thinks the world is full of Bambis crap. There are wolves out there who will kill us without a second thought and they're call psychopaths. I'm scared of guns, never played with guns, and jump whenever a firecracker pops. Gun violence is quick, devastating, and impersonal. Can't we human beings figure out another way of conflict resolution?

What an idiotic oversimplification!! In Oklahoma we have very few so-called muggings or home invasions. We have purse snatchers, burglars and an occasional drive-by shooting, but we don't have many of those in-your-face kind of confrontations.

The main reason: almost every law-abiding citizen owns at least one gun and lots of us carry concealed. I think it makes a huge difference in, if not the number of crimes, at least the TYPES of crimes committed against citizens. This woman's attitude toward guns and crime are both naive and foolish.
