Thanks for posting the info Man50D -
It’s good information to have that the National Taxpayer’s Union supports this reform.
How many members does NTU have? Isn’t it millions?
Who heads up the NTU?
thanks-
~Prince

I don't know how many members in the NTU but your figure wouldn't surpise me.
The President is Duane Parde
You're welcome.

this is an interesting link - shows how many pay NO taxes under todays system.
It also show the number of "all returns" keeps increasing.

All the more reason to keep the grassroots effort growing by spreading the word.

Excellent, thanks for posting. Anything less than radical tax reform will be useless. Radical tax reform coupled with spending reform will go a long way to curing the ills created by our Congress.

It's a sad and scary commentary about Congress's abuse of power when disbursing power to the people as our founding fathers intended with the Constitution is considered radical.

Yes, somewhere along the way, our elected officials took their jobs "more seriously" than they took their constituents. What was meant to be a temporary job became a position for life, at least in some elected officials minds. The laws passed by Congress take on the same status as the Constitution and the law of the land. In doing so the meaning of the Constitution was expanded on from what the Founding Fathers wrote about.
Radical change may well be the only way to reclaim the original intent.

Look on the bright side, If Obama wins, no one will have any money or jobs so we won’t be able to pay taxes! YEA!!!

If you think the FairTax disburses power to the people (hmm - power to the people; where have I heard that before?) you are sadly delusional.

I just went a read through (well, scanned quickly through) the text of HR 25.
Will you be so kind as to point out the particular section where a constitutional amendment is submitted for approval and ratification by the states which would remove constitutional authority for the Federal Government to levy an income tax?

There isn't one. Nor is there a "sister" legislation that would be triggered with the passage of the Fairtax...To say there is would be a lie.

Bills cannot contain amendments to the constitution. The amendment you reference is HJR 45 IIRC - which IS an amendment.
If i misunderstand your question - apologies in advance.
