I doubt that they would settle for the Reagan treatment. I expect someone to lead an ass down Capital Ave. with the backward boots in the stirrups, cannons, etc.

Burial in Arlington Cemetery, perpetual (+1,000 years) flame (powered by hybrid ethanol/wind/solar from somebody else's backyard). New Federal Holiday (Tim Russert King Day).

Oops!

Forgot the Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi ordered joint House and Senate inquiry into the right-wing conspiracy responsible for his death.

Why would Sowell want to run the National Department of Education when his firmly stated position is it should be totally abolished?

Sowell and I share the opinion that socialistic systems, such as our educational system work best when totally run at the local level. The Department of Education by its very nature violates everything that Sowell believes.

He is not stupid enough to use his talent to increase the power of the federal goverment over eductaion for his desired goals, when he knows the next administration would use that added power to exert even more leftist control over education.

Sowell is very smart. He does not do stupid things.

I agree with you Common Tator. But he could fight to dissolve the department from the inside. Just a thought.
