My dad was wounded by a shell splinter in Italy, but he said he was ashamed to apply for a PH because so many of his friends got hurt worse.
Too bad JF'n'K doesn't think or act like the men of that generation. What a wuss!

John F. Kerry dresses for the part, diplomatically speaking..

My dad was wounded by a shell splinter in Italy, but he said he was ashamed to apply for a PH because so many of his friends got hurt worse.A friend who been a sailor at Okinawa was hospitalized with a wounded hand; he cannot straighten out one of his fingers. Years ago (long before Kerry surfaced) he told me how embarrassed he had been to receive the PH while in the hospital surrounded by men in much worse shape.
The fact that so many of Kerry's colleagues hate him suggests that spirit didn't end with the WWII generation.

The Quote Of The Day, May 19, 2008: The Obama Gaffe-O-Matic Churns Out Another One
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said. "That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added." -- Barack Obama
Let's see what changes we'll apparently see under Obama: SUV's will be outlawed, we will no longer eat as much as we want, we will no longer be able to set our thermostats as high as 72 degrees, and it will be vitally important that we get other countries to say "OK" to us about those issues.
Wow, it almost makes you pine for the days when John Kerry just wanted us to pass a "global test," doesn't it?

... when we need him?

Yes, you are right. But the fact that the men of spirit are ignored while “men” like Kerry rise to the top of the heap is cause for alarm.

Yeah..I know the feeling..I was still in the service during the Clinton years...and my certificate of appreciation when I retired in 1999 is signed by Slick Willy which means nothing at all to me. I know of some who laminated that Clinton signed cert and put it on the floor under the pet dishes. That is how much disrespect we had for him.
