Simi Valley California, the ninth safest large city in the country, recently busted a gang that had a large cache of stolen credit cards. They left the cards lying around the house destined to be taken to the dump or anyone that happened upon them.
It would seem to me that if they were concerned about the average American, they would have collected each and every card, and contacted the owners rather than let the theft perpetuate itself.
They have also recently acknowledged the fact they will no longer check the legal status of those arrested.
This really annoys me as I have to stand guard on trash day here in Los Angeles and protect my trash from I.D. thieves every week. And of course, the recycle can is the last can to be picked up on trash day. (yes, I do pull all known I.D. out and burn it during the winter, is this the way we should be living?)

Those “employers” don’t file any kind of paperwork therefore the federal white collar welfare workers have no idea that they exist.

Don’t arrest & deport the workers...they’ll just be back next week.

Until the border is effectively secure, arresting the EMPLOYER is the answer.

There is no way in hell that this company could NOT have known that its workforce was made up of so many illegal aliens. 10 - 1 few, if any of them, speak english. If it were my company, someone walks in with what looks like legitimate id, but speaks nary a word of English...you bet I’d be checking. These company owners are nothing more than modern day slave owners and I’d bet they even provided the fake id’s.

I have been doing follow up on just what you remark about. So far......sheriff dept...”not our problem” Congressman Thompson office, unaware they should be doing anything. No call back from County commissioner or ICE as yet. However, I had no problem confirming that the addresses of these 283 are on file, and apparently legit at the co office.

283 ID theft felons running around the county today, yet no authority wants to touch them. They are free to use the same scam, this time with another American stolen id and do it all over again....hurting another family. Also, I am having trouble getting information from out county as to political contributions this company has made to local officials.

I'm aware of the formalities and requirements. And, yes, the SSA does allow employers to verify a SSN.

So, the new employee arrives and is required to fill out all required forms. The forms are handed in and sometime over the next week the forms are processed.

The employers HR department, very diligently, verifies the SSN online and it is a valid SSN because the employee is using a valid SSN it just isn't his! AND, HR verified he is who he says he is by seeing, and copying probably, his green card, SS card AND, for good measure, his drivers licence, as we do in our company.

We received a letter from the SS Administration asking us to verify a worker's SSN. We called him in and asked him for his SS Card. He didn't have it with him and said that he would bring it in the following day, which he dutifully did.

We reported back to the SSA. Turns out he was using a family member's SS number. Using that, he applied for a replacement drivers license, complete with new photo, and a fake green card that an SSA investigator had trouble determining that it was, in fact, counterfeit.

You need to think further than your nose or your experience. You underestimate the desperation and deviousness of people in this country illegally.

So before you crow BS, you need to educate yourself.

using the SSN of a deceased relative or friend, the SSN of a relative who no longer works, or who has retired to Mexico, or is in Mexico for an extended time ... this happens all the time.
