I'm not in favor of CEO's raping their companies or vulture CEO's flying in manipulating stock shares for their own benefit.

Something should be done and those defending it should be ashamed.

I’m probably showing my Rino-ness but some of these CEO’s with their golden parachutes loot their companies. But I agree it would be better to leave this issue to the stockholders. Corporate income tax is double taxation and as such should be low or eliminated.

McCain has to dump all of this teddy roosevelt baggage on regulation and the environment. Teddy Roosevelt wasn’t a liberal like Franklin D Roosevelt or Teddy Kennedy but he was no reagan and that’s our winning formula.

If he wants to go after lobbyists and people gaming the system he should talk about the flat tax and smaller govt, not more regulation or mccain-feingold.

If he thinks global warming is a problem he should say “we’ll deal with global warming AND high gas prices...and the solution is nuclear plants” -none of this nonsense about cap and trade and blocking ANWR. Most conservatives would be happy with more nuclear even if they don’t believe in global warming.
McCain could have his cake and eat it too but he chooses to have the worst of both worlds.

“As president, I will propose an alternative tax system. When this reform is enacted, all who wish to file under the current system could still do so,” he will say.

and people will continue to game the system. If you really want to do something about corporatism, you have to eliminate the old system.

And under my reforms, all aspects of a CEO's pay, including any severance arrangements, must be approved by shareholders," he will say. (Editing by Chris Wilson

I'd like to see the details of Sen. McCain's "reforms".

For instance, I wonder if Sen. McCain would allow busy (or uninterested) shareholders to delegate their decision-making to some other body in the corporation.

Like- oh, I don't know- maybe to some kind of board that represents those shareholders?
