From this picture, it looks like she might have a wedding ring on....

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I cried when I read your post. I lost (miscarried) a baby in January. It was heart breaking, not only to me but to my family. This is truly an incredible circumstance. I can understand the fear of having another child they might lose. What I cant understand is the choice to kill the baby out of fear because the baby might die. I know you werent justifying their decision with your post, just trying to help us understand their logic. I just wanted to put all my opinion into one post.

I imagine their thinking wasn't only their personal suffering of loosing a child, but the thought of the suffering and/or death of the little one if brought to term. A terrible situation to be in - and unless someone has been in it - they should STFU

How do you reconcile your explanation and tagline - "(Typical Gun-Toting, Jesus-Loving Gramma)" with Matthew 25:31-46? - Especially - And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

You cannot.

To be fair, that is not at all what is implied by the article.

It was absolutely was. My wife is pregnant with our third child. She had "bad" blood work come back. The wonderful perinatologist was trying to use scare tactics on us because our child may have Downs or some other abnormality. They use the old "you really dont what it is like..." or "People say it doesn't matter but when the child comes..." BS arguments to try and get you to get an amnio or to abort. It is sickening.

Jesus may give us this cross and it will be ours to bear, if it indeed turns into a cross. But I just remember Matthew 25:31-46 and try and live it.

Values aren't values if you change them when the going gets tough.

You posted: So when Finley’s mother, Jodie Percival, became pregnant while on the Pill, she and her fiance Billy Crampton, 35, made the agonising decision to abort this child.

This is a great teaching point.

Pope Paul VI prophesied in his encyclical, Humanae Vitae, that legalizing the use of the contraceptives would cause a prophylactic mentality leading to an exponential increase in abortion, since inevitable “unwanted” pregnancies would result in abortion.

Contraception is an intrinsic evil that has caused great pain and suffering in this world. Every Christian denomination outside of the Catholic Church and Orthodox Churches opposed contraception until the Lambeth Conference in 1930 allowed for it. The smoke of Satan at that time entered into accepted Christian practice among non-Catholics.

We not only have to eliminate the acceptability of abortion but also its twin abomination, contraception.

frogjerk, did you actually read the article? Or did you see enough of it to feel like this is a good spot to tell your heart wrenching story?

The original poster said:

treat this baby as an “inconvenience” to be gotten out of the way,

I am sorry, but as someone who actually read the article before I posted, I see that the OP is flat out wrong. That is NOT what the couple in the story did.

Yes, I read the article so your assumption is exactly that, an assumption. The couple thought that they and the child would be inconvienced through it's potential illness.

They did not want to be inconvienced with the possibility of having a sickly child. They did not want to see their child "possibly" suffer an illness but they were willing to let the child suffer murder in the womb. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Wow, you are totally reading a different story than I am. Enjoy your book club. It’s too bad you aren’t helping out the pro-life cause, but, so be it.

Inconvience: "a difficulty that causes anxiety".

Nope, you are trying real hard to be a holier-than-thou d*ckhead, and that can make us pro-lifers look bad. Seriously bad.

Must of touched a nerve.

Thank you, that was how I was looking at it. What else is it in the view of someone who would kill their child because he *might* be sickly and require extra care, than an inconvenience?

And why does she continue to conceive, if she doesn’t want possibly sick children? We’re not talking a one-time accident here.

Your failure to see how the couple had been trying to have a baby is quite odd. But you have your approach, I guess.

The couple was NOT trying to have a baby otherwise she wouldn't have been on the pill. Did you read the article? ;)

Cute. Did you miss the part about their first two children? Or are you aggressively ignorant?

Firstly, the girlfriend got pregnant on the pill. They did not want another child.

Secondly, at eight weeks, exactly what test is administered to check to see if this baby would have the deadly kidney abnormality? I call a B.S. convenient cover story, which is basically abortion in the name of euthanasia.

Hopefully, she is speaking the truth when she says she wouldn't change it for the world (her child being alive).

Where are you reading that the couple were trying to have a child? Bizarro world?
