LBJ was famous for physically intimidating other senators when he was a senator. LBJ was a tall, big guy and he would often get in other smaller senators’ faces, etc.

I think Joe gets a two-fer by backing McCain. He gets solid support for Israel and sticks his finger in Daily Kos/Huf Po eye. As long as Obama is a Soros stooge, Joe will diss him.

Good catch on that article Nomad. If anything, Joe should be grateful for the support back in ‘06 from Obama, I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama wasn’t sounding out Joe about either VP or a position in his Cabinet as SecDef and/or SecState.
