All I can say about this whole experience is that the one thing I have learned is we are not alone. My heart greives with all of the others.
It’s sobering to know that we are not alone.
If you guys have not read the story in Esquire magazine about “all of those that carried him”... you need to look it up.
Yes, we lost a soldier. Yes we lost a man who was defending his country... but we are also dealing with the loss of her brother as a person. His quirks, his mannerisms, all of the things that made Taylor, old Taylor. He was MORE than a soldier. He was a friend and a brother and so much more.
It’s at this point that I realize that every soldier is the same way. They are dad’s, friends, crazy uncle’s... whatever. Everyone involved grieves a different way.
It’s what makes them special.
While I LOVE the patriotism to respect the troops and salute them for the service they do, please try to remember that somewhere, they were more than just military men. They were Americans just like us.
