No kidding. Wright and Feltcher-what a couple of walking egos. "Hey look at me! I'm cool, dontcha think?"
Also as a Catholic, he made me sick! He is suppose to be a witness to the gospel and all he did was make himself look like a wannabe black man. He looked like he was on some stage instead of preaching to the people. Disgusting!!! Cardinal George should get some guts and sit this guy down. What has happened to these priests,it’s like they want to be liked more than to make things right!
If Obama loses everything Wright said will be made to look as the real gospel, his gospel. Whites hates blacks! Not people don’t like Obama’s politics.
They should.
This wasn't "a sacred and solemn church." This was the goofy church that Obama and his wife belong to.
I hope the Bishop and Archbishop have a long chat with Father Pfleger. What makes you think that they actually disapprove of Rev. Feltcher, er, Pfleger's actions?
1) Francis Cardinal George did have a 'long chat' with 'father' Pfleger almost immediately after this hit the news.
2) 'father' Pfleger has been a MAJOR embarrassment for the Archdiocese of Chicago almost since day one of him being assigned to St. Sabina parish.
3) 'father' Pfleger is/was already on thin ice. He was supposed to be reassigned to a new parish a couple years ago, to Minn IIRC, but the 'parishioners' of St. Sabina raised such as stink, the Cardinal gave him an extension to stay in Chicago.
4) Just for the record, the Cardinal does NOT approve of Pfleger's antics and never has.
5) Here is the statement released by the Cardinal dated Friday, May 30, 2008
Statement of Cardinal Francis George concerning remarks of Fr. Michael Pfleger about Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton during an address at Trinity United Church of Christ on Sunday May 25, 2008The Catholic Church does not endorse political candidates. Consequently, while a priest must speak to political issues that are also moral, he may not endorse candidates nor engage in partisan campaigning.
Racial issues are both political and moral and are also highly charged. Words can be differently interpreted, but Fr. Pflegers remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack. I regret that deeply.
To avoid months of turmoil in the church, Fr. Pfleger has promised me that he will not enter into campaigning, will not publicly mention any candidate by name and will abide by the discipline common to all Catholic priests.
This idiot Pflegers taking up where the last heretic 'father' Andrew Greeley left off. Greeley was a constant embarrassment back in the '80's for our old Cardinal, John Patrick Cardinal Cody.
I’m really glad to hear this. Thank you for letting me know.
I am not impressed with the “chat” and the milk toast statement.
When the hierarchy responds meekly to years of “defiance” with a few words composed by their attorneys, rather than with action some where along the way, it is telling. It has the appearance of feigning disapproval for the sake of appearance, not actual disapproval-a kind of plausible deniability.
Have a look at Rev. Feltcher’s church website. There is absolutely no emphasis on Christ and His Sacraments. It’s all socialist politics. If a pastor ran a parish like that in the Phoenix Diocese, you’d better believe he would be pastor no more in a very short time.
