Amen.
It's the pols in Washington that allow themselves to be co-opted by the lobby industry.
It's not like the lobbyists are FORCING them to take the handouts and cast their vote for their interests, not ours.
The pols are 100% culpable and deserve to be sent packing.
Reduce the dependence on government, literally and emotionally, and you reduce the size of gov......and the lobbyists will dwindle with it.
Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding of the purpose of the US Senate is that it is to be a deliberative body, one wherein individual members, even those in the minority, can have influence beyond what their counterparts in the House have, where things tend to be steamrollered by the majority and the minority is told to go pound sand. So, acting alone, or with colleagues who support him, Coburn can do things, like start filibusters, propose amendments to legislation, put holds on various things in order to get them brought up for votes, etc. He isn't powerless (like the rest of us are, except for our votes, which may or may not make much difference).
Well if he did, he didn’t do it immediately or forceful enough, because I don’t remember any kind of significant response when it happened. I didn’t hear it and I am guess lots of people didn’t hear it either.
Who cares if you are a small gov Conservative when you cannot even take your battle to the enemy UnAmerican Democrat Party?
When you chose to snivel before the camera instead of in private?
When you chose the easy route of slamming your fellow GOPers, instead of Barack Hussein Obama after he SLANDERS YOU IN A PUBLIC DEBATE THAT MILLIONS WATCHED???????????
Form a 3rd party that never compromises its principles to get a INO elected, one. The Conservative party!
You are exactly right. Thank you.
