That's the problem with business travel, there's usually little to no time to tour.
I'll have a little time Wednesday evening (if I'm smart and stick to my process for getting on schedule on Europe) and Friday evening, and... that's it. But at least it's not my first time in Berlin and LoM and I toured then.

I spent 18 years in Ohio, it got boring after awhile.

I think I can imagine... I spent a number of years in a part of Michigan that looked a lot like Ohio — though it was not boring for me.

The first 11 were okay, the last seven were not so okay, but the neighborhoods we lived in in Youngstown and Cleveland were not so okay either.

Ah yes, location location location.
I had the fortunate to live in great places in Michigan. Although one or two of them might not be so great anymore, and all are being taxed to death.
Still, a recent visit to Columbus struck chords with me. I saw that the culture my family had left so long ago still exists in some form.
For a positive for Cleveland: Our priest has fond memories of growing up (Amish Mennonite) near there, and of the beginnings of his musical education in the city. (It was our choral tradition that initially attracted him to the Anglican church.)

When my grandfather visted us in Port Townsend from a small town in northwest Oklahoma we picked him up in Seattle at the airport. We drove up to the ferry then up to Port Townsend. About half way home on a road with tall trees on each side he asked my dad when are going to get to clearing where I can see something?
To: ThomasThomas
LOL! When family visit us from back East it's always, "Everything is SO GREEN!" and "The trees are SO TALL!"
But when we moved from the midwest to California, one of the first things I hated was the fact that you couldn't see the weather coming in until it was right on top of you (we were at the eastern base of the Santa Cruz Mountain range, in Sunnyvale).

"About half way home on a road with tall trees on each side he asked my dad when are going to get to clearing where I can see something?" My dad had a different complaint about Kansas. He said there was nothing to rest his eyes against.

Guess he wasn’t a photographer. Biggest complaint of Kansas? The incessant wind.

Columbus is a rather boring city; when I visited some friends at OSU there was nothing there outside of the campus, not that Cleveland was that great either, but I blame 30 years of political corruption for that, it used to be better. Geauga County, next one over from Cuyahoga where we lived, has most of the Cleveland-area Amish population.

Good morning! I guess we’d better head out for yardwork this a.m., before it gets too hot. Shannon is frisky, and Wednesday has already given up and gone back to sleep.

Good morning! I replanted the cilantro, mulched the marigolds, trimmed the holly, and otherwise engaged in useful yardworkery.
Now I need to work on a shopping list, so I can go to the Wal-mart and the Post Office when the byos go to nap.
