ROTFL ... seems like a conflict of interest or ethics conflict at work. But then, again .. it is Detroit.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has vetoed the City Council's resolution asking Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm to remove him from office.

Ya just can't make this stuff up, I tell ya.

I wonder if it really matters. Did the governor need a formal resolution from the council in order to remove him, or was this just their way of letting her know on the record that they wanted him removed?

Actually, it seems odd that a Governor would have the power to summarily remove a mayor.

Kilpatrick and former top aide Christine Beatty face perjury and other charges stemming from testimony given during a whistle-blowers' trial.

In fairness to the mayor, I have it on the best authority that perjury is not even a crime because everybody does it, and that even if it was a crime, it would not rise to the level of impeachment. Bill Clinton and his innumerable fans said so, and every Democrat alive believed it in 1998.

Kwame will be the next governor of Michigan and 150% of eligible Detroit voters will turn out and vote.

“Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has vetoed the City Council’s resolution asking Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm to remove him from office”

......there’s no way a white woman can remove a black brother from office in the inner city...forget about the law...the “community” will not stand for it...they’ll close ranks around the brother...even if he’s a bum it doesn’t matter....he’s still blood....racial loyalty trumps law....racial loyalty trumps all.

I’m sure he still has support from President Pro Tempore Monica Conyers of the Detroit City Council, the shrill, corrupt wife of the corrupt congressman.

This is why Clinton got “acquitted” by the Senate. Had they “convicted” him he would have said - “Come and get me you cowards.”
