It never happened.

It was conjecture upon conjecture upon flimsy fact upon flimsy memory, retold, rehashed, retold until it took on the shape of “our story.”

In short, a myth that was enlarged by the telling and retelling.

Well, he got his wish.

If subpoenaed to give testimony in a trial then you don’t have a choice. If you refuse then that’s contempt and you go to jail for as long as the judge wants to keep you there. It makes no difference if it’s a gangland thug or a Marine NCO.

Your full of shiite. You don’t treat a gangland thug the same way you treat a United States Marine. You have to have brains to interpret the law.

Its a decision of the Judge and he did not have to put the Marine in jail, he could have fined him 5 bucks and told him - Semper Fi Mack.

That judge is a scum sucking pig. Send him to iraq and see how he likes getting treated like an infidel. Who will he be calling out for help to?

“...only a military convening authority can..”

I thought so, the Govt is playing a double game here, the men are facing UCMJ charges, as well as Civilian USC charges, the Govt is attempting to say that a grant of immunity will somehow shield the men in the UCMJ proceedings, and that doesn’t smell quite “Kosher”.

Either one set of charges or the other will have to be dropped to avoid a double jeopardy claim by these men, who in reality shouldn’t be charged anyway, the UK’s SAS has a doctrine that involves not leaving a living enemy behind you as you move about.....

Your full of shiite.

You're looking a little full there yourself. The law is the law and nobody is above it; not a politician or a billionaire or a gangland thug. Or even a decorated Marine. It's no different than any other lawful order. He was ordered to destify. He refused to obey the order. He got his ass thrown in jail.

You have to have brains to interpret the law.

Obviously.

Its a decision of the Judge and he did not have to put the Marine in jail, he could have fined him 5 bucks and told him - Semper Fi Mack.

As could a crooked judge to a drug kingpin who refused to testify. But at the end of the day both are saying that the judicial system is corrupt through and through. I don't care who it is, nobody is above the law. This Marine is impeding the judicial process. Assuming he's still in prison then he's where he belongs.

That judge is a scum sucking pig. Send him to iraq and see how he likes getting treated like an infidel. Who will he be calling out for help to?

Not the judiciary so far as you're concerned. You'd have us do away with that.

Nazario says the event never happened.

Government prosecutors granted Nelson testimonial immunity last month and ordered him to testify before the federal Grand Jury looking into the case. He refused and was locked up for contempt, his lawyer Joseph Low said at the time.

Before being released Nelson again told Anderson he would not testify against Nazario. The exasperated judge ordered Nelson to return on June 18 to appear before the Grand Jury and suggested that he at least “listen to the questions,” his lawyer said.

Nelson responded that he did not intend to change his mind.
