Journalist, with a capital "J"? Ooh...
Guns, SUVs, and Conservatives kill.
"Whenever possible, find the grave of a shooting victim upon which to perform your dance of glee..."
I posted an article from the St. Louis Post Dispatch a few years ago, wherein the reporter referred to a 38mm revolver, within the space of a couple of hours they ran a "correction" calling it a .38mm revolver, then "recorrected' that to a 38 caliber revolver. They never got it right.
In all fairness, the vast majority of reporters, who egotistically call themselves journalists, are generally ignorant and biased about so many topics that it’s not really fair to point out just one as noteworthy.
Instead we should look to their real expertise and try to divine where it comes from.
Most journalists are legitimate experts in the subjects of inexpensive beer and liquor and complimentary buffets. That is, cheap and free stuff.
In turn, this implies that they not only can be bought, but bought for pennies, which is standard practice for most politicians wanting favorable coverage.
So what course of action does this suggest for the NRA?
Simple. If you want favorable coverage, you have to buy it.
Not directly, of course. Nobody in their right mind gives money to a reporter. Instead, the NRA should conduct a very carefully scripted, especially for safety reasons, program of regularly taking reporters out for “arms familiarization”.
After a brief visit to a gun range, where the reporters are allowed, under close adult supervision, to fire a few rounds of small caliber ammo from large and intimidating looking handguns, then they are taken to a magnificent and free buffet with all-you-can-drink liquor served by attractive and friendly women. Free cigarettes and cigars as well.
Just doing this for a few years should have your typical reporter putting an NRA sticker on his car, and swearing eternal loyalty to whatever amendment it is that is that says people should have guns.
And once the word gets around, the NRA will have discovered the most cost effective way known to have its message heard from every street corner. Not bad for a few buckets of hot wings and a barrel of scotch flavored ethanol.
***This excellent political satire is all too believable. Most of us will recognize most of it from the daily news outlets.***
You can say that again, but I already did.
Bump
Might just work. Like a good number of politicians, a good number of “journalists” are naught but whores... and cheap ones at that. They might not be so susceptible, but those merely ignorant and hungry/thirsty might be amenable to such a program.
Gads! Some idiot will add this to a style book somewhere...
This is not satire in Australia. This is real. This IS how such events are reported.
Didn't waste any time, did they?
Sad? Only in that I do not have more...
A common sense and historically proven way to keep those dangerous and destructive GUNS out of YOUR life. MEMBERSHIPS AVAILABLE NOW!
Details below.
Concerned about the easy availability of guns in our society?
Are you as alarmed as the United Nations and some within our own government about the "gun nuts" and other freedom wackos allowed to run loose?
Wish the government would just repeal the Second Amendment and confiscate all the guns because you believe sensible people shouldn't suffer because of some idiotic notion about some antiquated right?
While we can't take the guns away from the people, we CAN take the people (or at least SOME of them) away from their guns.
Nazi Germany Weapons Law (1938) §1: "Jews are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority."
