" LOL, some people like to ignore that little thing called the Constitution."

I meant that sentence sarcastically.

US Constitution, Article 2 Section 2 (Scope of Presidential Power). The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

If McCain chooses Huckabee as VP, I promise you that not only will I vote for Barr, I will spend all my time and spare money to get him votes. Any man who is a priest of the baptist cult is not qualified to be vice-president of the United States.

He does suck. I am in the energy industry and you cannot even imagine how my skin crawls when he talks about global warming. But on the issue of Commander in Chief our troops do not deserve Obama.

YOU GOT AN ISSUE WITH THAT! lol!

The high court is obviously a concern. But conservatives also ought to be concerned about universal health care (i.e. socialist medicine). We know that both Hillary and Barak want to get that passed. With a Dem Congress, they most certainly will be successful.

Once socialized medicine gets passed, we'll be stuck with it forever. No President, no matter how conservative, will ever be able to strip it from the budget.

Like it or not, that is reality.

I guess we’ve come down to the situation this country is really ruled by 9 unelected Supreme Court Justices - just as some of the Founding Fathers feared...

“Poll: Obama Leads McCain in November matchup”

Perhaps if your candidate wasn’t such a backstabbing POS, this poll would be different.

And now you attack anyone that refuses to vote for your partys’ liberal.

He's actually been decent on court nominees.

He has, but he's now in a different position. He's no longer just voting on them, he is going to have to appoint the judges to be voted on by Democrates.

He has a long, and nearly unbroken, history of going across the aisle to met with liberal Dems to side against conservatives. We can already see that in his campaign.

It doesn't take any stretch to know that he will develop a 'pre-approved' list of judges. That's because he will have to 'work' with a Dem controlled Senate.

Can you see him fight for a Judge Thomas the way GHWB did?

I can't even see him consider Judge Thomas, let alone have him on the short list, and no way will he nominate a Judge Thomas.
