Like ‘stockholm syndrome’ but they never ‘break out’ of the mindset (even after being expelled).

From: LIVE FROM THE COURTHOUSE: Day 3 of the polygamist sect’s 60-day child custody hearings . . .

During a break in court proceedings, FLDS member Willie Jessop said the YFZ Ranch has ordered between 500 and 600 voter registration cards to “put people in office with integrity.”

Jessop didn’t expand on what, if any, offices the group would seek. He simply said the state is trying to destroy the YFZ Ranch.

Looks like they’re palnning on taking control of the local Eldorado government: sheriff, courts, etc.

Last place that Jeffs had his monarchy established, he did the same thing.

Ended up with the MAYOR getting busted.

IIRC, Dale Barlow was the son of that mayor.

I wonder how much control Jeffs is still exerting from prison. Just because the “prophet” is in prison, doesn't mean that he is no longer THE “prophet” in the group's eyes.

Re: the voter's registration cards. Wasn't this question originally raised by the concerned citizens who (on their own) investigated the cult and their activities elsewhere?

Willie Jessop said the YFZ Ranch has ordered between 500 and 600 voter registration cards to “put people in office with integrity.”

Integrity, meaning looking other way on underaged marriage; the awarding of local gov't contracts; welfare fraud?

So, it will be interesting to see the reactions here...that the flds intended (or still intends to) 'take over' the local government. This is a scary precedent...cult buys land to establish ranch; cult moves hundreds (or thousands) of hand picked followers to inhabit said ranch. They all register to vote...to 'put people in office with integrity.' Hmmmm...substitute black burkas for the pastel prairie garb and maybe more will see the dangers in this kind of set up.

G-D bless Texas...they got one heck of mess on their hands there...

Sadly, many here won't see that danger until the burkas are being worn.

The burkas being worn and the prayer calls coming over loud speakers (five times a day) to a town near you (or me or any of us!!!). I’m just saying... that if the ranch housed a mosque (not a flds temple) there would be a different mindset here...
