And in every BEDROOM.
Yeah, it’s awful that the FLDS adults can’t further indoctrinate their kids to worship a CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER AND PERVERT. So sad. Those poor children!
I actually tuned into Nancy Grace to watch it last night. I try not to watch her too much. This guy is not FLDS. I truly don’t know what to think. What with polygamy ok with the Muslims & its fine with the FLDS & now this group. I suppose its all over & theres going to be more that pop up. I like normal relationships myself. I can’t imagine sharing my husband or children with another women & my husband wouldn’t want another wife. He has his hands full with me. I wouldn’t even think of telling him I was going to take on some more husbands either. I wouldn’t want them! I don’t like the stuff I am seeing.
“I have a teenage daughter, and if she was 18 and CPS decided to call her a minor and force her to live with a foster family Id be more than a bit upset.”
Then, when they raided the YFZ Ranch, she told them she was 15 so she could go with the other kids.
And her ‘parents’ wouldn’t identify themselves as her parents.
So what is it you want to see done?
Do you want the CPS sued for violating those 5 adults ‘rights’?
Do you want the CPS to return all the children, because of the supposed ‘violation’?
I know, if there is no evidence, then they must be returned.
But, what if there is? What if there is plenty?
Do we still prosecute the CPS workers who guessed ages wrong?
“I dont like the stuff I am seeing.”
Nobody does.
The problem is everybody ‘sees’ different stuff.
no kidding....how many Muslims here today?
millions?
when are they gonna get rounded up?
Pick up the phone, call in a child abuse complaint. That is, if you have seen evidence of it.
Is this what happened? Why didn't the excommunicated parent(s) immediately go to the police to retrieve their daughter from the cult?
Very true & it is really sad to see FReepers ending long time friendships. And fighting & just meaness & I am guilty of it too. That is why I am trying to look at all of this from many views & being nicer.
This did not go unnoticed. Good job.
I am not regular enough here to be friends with anyone, but I have been really sad to see the level of civility go down the tubes. We should be able to argue about ideas and events without personal attacks.
This problem has not been limited to flds threads. When Romney wasn't my first choice, I was an anti-mormon bigot. If I think cps operates with inadequate supervision, I am a mormon child-molester. A lot of people know what motivates other posters, but what they know doesn't correspond to reality.
“Is this what happened? Why didn’t the excommunicated parent(s) immediately go to the police to retrieve their daughter from the cult?”
oh....wait. No I’m not.

“If I think cps operates with inadequate supervision”
Since they CPS had Baptists, MHRH, and DPS with them from the start, and now the whole world is watching every step, in this particular case, are they operating with inadequate supervision?
If you meant, in general, then I would have to agree.
Will made up evidence from a fake caller do?
maybe I’ll get lucky and find consent law violations with my bad warrant too
That statement is something that I would question.
I am referring to the situation in general, not in terms of this case. I have not followed this case well enough to evaluate the validity of every procedure. I agree that the more publicity the case receives, the more likely it is that the cps will behave properly. It seems that a lot of what is going on now is in the hands of judges and not just cps.
My earlier comments were informed by situations in which cps withholds exculpatory evidence at hearings from which the parents are excluded and cannot present it on their own behalf; confiscates children of lawyers helping parents fight back; presides over a higher child death rate than children not in care, etc. I don't think a priori that a child is better off with cps than with an abusive parent. Statistically, he may well be worse off.
However, my point in this thread wasn't about whether or not cps is adequately supervised but that expressing an opinion concerning the matter has lead to absurd and insulting accusations that seem designed to shut down discussion rather than enlighten.
What are MHRH and DPS? thanks
“Do you want the CPS sued for violating those 5 adults rights?”
Actually, I would prefer to see the CPS workers involved jailed for deprivation of rights under color of law, a 10-year federal felony, and THEN sued.
But you may feel differently.
Title 18, U.S.C., Section 242
Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law
This statute makes it a crime for any person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom to willfully deprive or cause to be deprived from any person those rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution and laws of the U.S.
This law further prohibits a person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation or custom to willfully subject or cause to be subjected any person to different punishments, pains, or penalties, than those prescribed for punishment of citizens on account of such person being an alien or by reason of his/her color or race.
Acts under “color of any law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the bounds or limits of their lawful authority, but also acts done without and beyond the bounds of their lawful authority; provided that, in order for unlawful acts of any official to be done under “color of any law,” the unlawful acts must be done while such official is purporting or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. This definition includes, in addition to law enforcement officials, individuals such as Mayors, Council persons, Judges, Nursing Home Proprietors, Security Guards, etc., persons who are bound by laws, statutes ordinances, or customs.
Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to one year, or both, and if bodily injury results or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire shall be fined or imprisoned up to ten years or both, and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

Opps, my bad - the CPS workers face the death penalty for kidnapping, under this law.
“...if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap...may be sentenced to death.”
Six people were kidnapped, maybe more.
“Will made up evidence from a fake caller do?”
Yes. All complaints must be investigated.
” However, my point in this thread wasn’t about whether or not cps is adequately supervised but that expressing an opinion concerning the matter has lead to absurd and insulting accusations that seem designed to shut down discussion rather than enlighten.”
Tell me about it! But most of that has stopped that I have seen. Lot’s of misunderstanding going on for a while.
“What are MHRH and DPS? thanks”
MHRH is Department of Mental Health ,Retardation, and Hospitals. They sent volunteers, at the request of CPS, to assist in conducting the search warrant, and dealing with about 1000 people at the YFZ Ranch over the first two weeks of April when this all occurred.
DPS is Department of Public Safety. The local LE.
